Obituary Preview: John (Jack) Edward Kasprisin, age 83, entered eternal rest on April 19, 2024.

John was a wonderfully loving and supportive father to daughters Jacquelyn (Darrin) and Julee (Milo), brother of Arlene (Dana, deceased) and Ken (Michelle) and uncle to many.

John was the devoted companion and partner to Sherry Brewer.

John was born in North Braddock, Pennsylvania where he lived until his college football career took him to Rutgers and then to the University of Dayton. John was a commissioned officer in the Unites States Army from 1963 through 1969. Jack served his country in Vietnam as a decorated Captain in Unites States Army Intelligence and Security unit, completing many certifications. Decorations John received were the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster for meritorious achievement with distinction and a Combat Infantry Badge citation. His brave (MI) specialized service included action with the U.S. Army 173rd Airborne Brigade (SEP) and then in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division as a Jumpmaster.

After Jack resigned is commission, he decided that law school was next and attended the Cleveland State College of Law. Following graduation, he worked in both the public and private sectors before changing careers and retiring from the Public Utilities Commission.

John was a lifelong adventurer and fearless outdoorsman with many interests- a real "man's man". He always enjoyed a lively debate and was an avid reader. Jack had a commanding and charismatic personality that garnered attention in any room.

But, on his time off, it was all vintage motorcycles and Hot Rods. The garage was a rotating workshop of Harley's, Indian, and Cleveland motorcycles. Tinkering, rebuilding, and restoring, you never knew what type of bike you would find on any given day. But one that was surely treasured was his 1936 Harley-Davidson bike. That was his baby.

As a graduate of Garfield Heights High School, she earned a B.S. from Ohio University and worked as a medical technologist at Cleveland Clinic before training as a teacher and returning to Garfield Heights Schools to teach elementary grades. She continued her education at Case Western Reserve University, earning master's degrees in education and psychology. She was a school psychologist at Cleveland Municipal Schools until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of The Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and a past president of Gamma Zeta Chapter, as well as a past president of her social sorority, Kappa Delta chapter.

Mary Jane is the former wife of Dr. William Cariens (dec.). She is survived by in-laws-David and Janice Cariens, nephews, several cousins, and her many friends.

husband of Meg Seelbach. Chuck was born on March 20, 1948, in Cleveland, OH. He grew up in Rocky River and went to University School in Shaker Heights. Chuck attended Dartmouth College where he excelled in swimming and baseball. Following college, he played baseball with the Toledo Mud Hens and was then drafted into the Major Leagues where he played for the Detroit Tigers as a pitcher. In 1972, Chuck's first full year in the Majors, he helped the team capture the Pennant pitching as the closer. After his baseball career ended, Chuck obtained his master's degree in history and began teaching at University School where he also coached both football and baseball. He was a wonderful teacher and was respected by colleagues and students alike. He was often lovingly referred to only as "Coach" by the students who passed in the halls. He retired from his teaching career in

2014. Chuck was a great father, an avid reader, and a lover of elaborate tournament games with close friends. He was gentle, generous, and kind, and though generally reserved, he was always quick with a witty joke and a smile that could light up a

room.

George, a history buff who served as President of the Civil War Western Reserve Round Table, was known for his intellectual wit, his love of reading, baseball, golf, racing, the Cleveland Orchestra, and whiskey sours.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Haling, children Sarah Morgan (Mark), Jordan Rolleston (Tessa), Louis Haling (Zoya), Alison Haling (Lawrence), and grandchildren Grant, Bayla, Eva, PJ, and Josephine. George is also survived by his siblings Karen Jones and James Rolleston. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Sherman Rolleston.

George was born on March 10th, 1946, in Milwaukee, WI and was the second of three children to parents Newton and Lorraine. George graduated from Riverside High School in 1964 and went on to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. When he returned from Vietnam, he received a bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin and a PhD in organizational sociology from Cornell University. It was at Cornell that he met his first wife, Barbara. He went on to work as the Director of Financial Aid at Baldwin Wallace University for more than three decades until he retired in 2020. George was a lucky man who found love a second time around with Rebecca Haling. Together they shared a love of books, gardening, and traipsing around Civil War battlefields. They married in 2018 and enjoy their 4 children and 5 grandchildren from their blended family.

Gerri attended SS Cyril and Methodius Grade School, Magnificat High School, and then attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio. She spent her professional career as a registered nurse at Lakewood Hospital, St. Edward High School, Lakewood High School, and Lakewood City Schools. She was a consummate giver to all; those who had the pleasure of knowing Gerri called her by many names: wife, mother, grandmother, "Daisy and Donut Grandma," great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, friend and "the world's best mother-in-law" to name a few.

Gerri was deeply passionate, strong-willed, kind, and in her words an "in-charge" person. Dedicated to community, she served with purpose as a volunteer, "neighborhood mom," party-planner extraordinaire, and a lover of arts. Her avid love for reading, photography, painting, crafting, and sea glass collecting influenced new generations of artists in her family and friends. With every club, hobby, volunteer, and professional experience, Gerri was considered a trusted leader. Gerri enjoyed traveling with her adventurous and loyal husband, Jeff, visiting family in western Europe, Slovakia, and Alaska, to name a few places. With a deep passion for sports and fun, she was arguably the proudest fan at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events throughout the years. Her love and skill in tennis and bowling led to success as a high school coach.

Gerri is preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes Trope and angel baby Joecken. She is survived by her husband, Jeff. Beloved mother of Gwen Obermeyer (Brian), Greg Brindza (Yesenia), Julie Hargreaves (Joe), and Lauren Kowalewski (Edward). Loving grandmother of Isa, Calix, Gabby, Kallin, Raymond, Piper, Taylor, and Ian; great grandmother of Josiah. Sister of Elaine Zilka (Joe) and Marilyn Hudak (Tom). Aunt of fifteen and great aunt of many.

Natasha was born to Gessie Dalencour and Gersang "Max" Blaise on June 16, 1990 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The third of Gessie's four children, Tasha had will and determination from a young age, exemplified in her walking earlier than most. An excellent student and athlete, she graduated from Valley Stream Central High School in New York where she received many medals, awards, trophies, and accolades in track and cross country. She took those talents to the College of Wooster in Ohio, where she earned other athletic recognitions. Despite her intelligence and wit, college was not her style, and she decided to take her talents and skills to the workforce where she showed the work ethic, love, and honesty that were central to who Tasha was. For all of those who had the honor to work with Tasha, they can testify that she not only worked hard but did so in style. Her final and very rewarding job was with the Ohio Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Tasha was known for having a unique style that she cultivated and curated throughout her life. It was easy to spot something unique, different, or extraordinary and with joy and amusement remark that it was "so Tasha." She didn't care how she looked, as long as she felt good, she was working it with an infectious confidence. Whether in Florida or New York, Georgia or Ohio, Natasha made friends, wherever she decided to call home. Obituary Preview: Richard E. Wenner, 90, passed away peacefully the evening of Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Ames Family Hospice House. Born May 7, 1933 to the late Elmer and Florence (Gau) Wenner, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Martha (Pesto). He is survived by his children: David Wenner (Bobbi) of Rocky River and Susie Snyder (Jimmy) of Columbus, Ohio. Four Grandsons: Andrew Wenner of Fort Mill, SC, Adam Wenner of Rocky River, J. Wesley Snyder III of Brownsburg, IN, R. Ben Snyder of Washington, DC. Great Grandson: Dawson Wenner.

In life, Rich was a humble, quiet and cheerful man, a devoted father and hard-working provider who never complained. He loved all things lighting or electrical. Richard always enjoyed being socially engaged and his dry sense of humor usually included hilarious terminology we will surely miss.

Rich grew up on East 127th St and attended Cleveland schools: Patrick Henry Jr HS and Collinwood HS. Although being an only child, his life was very rich with lots of neighborhood friends and large extended Wenner family where there was always social activity. He was a Press carrier and led the neighborhood boys "Hobo Club", who built an actual log cabin in the Twinsburg woods. As a teenager, he was a Gym Leader and high school, and entered The Press Carriers Competition - a big event with 20,000 in attendance at the Cleveland Auditorium doing a tumbling act with a couple guys. It was a huge deal then and they finished 3rd place for a cash prize.

Richard was drafted into the Army in 1954 during the end of the Korean conflict and spent a year in Japan at Johnson Air Force Base near Tokyo. He worked on the Radar/Electronic Ordinance Repair of the T-38 Anti-Aircraft gun. During that time, he proposed and two weeks later married Martha, later finishing his Army service in 1956.

Rich studied Electrical Engineering and pledged Pi Sigma Tau while at Fenn College, and graduated from Cleveland State University in 1965. This led him to work at General Electric Lighting Institute - NELA Park in Cleveland for 38 years. There he handled testing and lamp applications in Photo Engineering, Automotive and Product Testing and Photometry and had three IES (Illuminating and Engineering Society) papers published. Having a desire to serve the community, Rich was a charter member of the MetroWest Kiwanis and active in that 40 years in many capacities, very active in Scouting and was a Cub Master - planning Super Events and trips and built a camping equipment trailer. Because he loved projects and working with his hands, he did woodworking and finished the basement himself at the home where he lived 57 years. At the peak of the initial color TV rage, Rich tasked himself to assemble and build a big color television set from a kit which involved soldering every circuit board and transistor, wiring etc. This was no Lego task!

In retirement, grass didn't grow under his feet! He loved being busy and was always looking for a project. Rich played Piano all over the west side, volunteering at Lakewood Hospital 20 years and many nursing homes, the Senior Center, playing and performing with dear friends and neighbors Jerry and Carol McCabe, taking their "act" around town. They joked that the show was well worth the price! Those years were filled with lots of laughs and comradery. Following in the footsteps of his father, who roller-skated into his 80s, Rich took up figure skating near retirement in 1992 and enjoyed ice dancing and the Adult Skate group at River Ice Rink for 20 years, skating into his 80s. In recent years, and through two weeks ago, Richard enjoyed activities at the Rocky River Senior Center, particularly the Monday singing group.

The highlight of 2023 that marked his 90th birthday, Rich was able to go on an Honor Flight to Washington, DC where he was flown on a charter flight with 85 other veterans and volunteers to spend a whirlwind day touring Memorials, honored for his service in the Korean War and returned late that evening to a crowd of 2000 at the Columbus airport. They were met with a gauntlet of cheers, signs and bagpipes, welcoming home all the veterans. Being deeply patriotic and passionate about his service, this was truly a pinnacle of his life experiences. Services for Richard will be held Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at Church of the Redeemer, 23500 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145

Visitation hours at the Church will be 1:00 - 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service in the Sanctuary at 2:00 pm and Fellowship time and refreshments at 3:00 pm.
