Richard was born on August 26, 1940, in Vienna, GA to the late Wilbur and Zubie (Hopkins) Barry. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Richard went on to work as a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a proud member of the Men’s Supper Club, known as the “post office”.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, James T. Barry, and Randy Neal Barry.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 58 years, Faye (Smallwood) Barry of Perry, GA; son: Dr. Richard Eugene Barry, Jr. (Dr. Josiah Evans) of Philadelphia, PA; daughter: Allison Garrett (Todd) of Perry, GA; grandchildren: Abigail Julian, Amber Howell (Cody), Trevor Garrett, and Ava Garrett; sisters: Faye Ammons of Byron, GA, and Janet Loretta Willis of Warner Robins, GA; brother-in-law: Jimmy Smallwood of Perry, GA; sisters-in-law: Betty Stubbs of Perry, GA, and Rita Barry of Warner Robins, GA; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment following at Sherwood Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Jonesboro, GA. The visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services. Reverend Jay Lauritsen will be officiating the services.
Russell was born on March 23, 1956, in Dekalb County, GA to the late William Davis Nixon and the late Betty Florence (Greer) Collins. He was a graduate of Northside High School. He worked as a car salesman for many years in Warner Robins, until he started his own company selling cleaning products. Russell enjoyed traveling, drag racing, riding motorcycles, and loved collecting and restoring cars and trucks.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Davis Nixon.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jaimie Hart (Dustin) and Victoria Mendez (Elvin); four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother: Carrington Ethridge; nephew: Carrington Ethridge II; many cousins and extended family.

Jerry Clayton Bryan - April 18, 1934 - April 22, 2024

Obituary Preview: Jerry Clayton Bryan, 90 passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 with his family at his side. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
Born April 18, 1934 in Marshallville, Georgia to the late Thelmon Clayton Bryan and Frances “Tiny” Vining Bryan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Valley and a member of the Frank Withoff Sunday School Class. Jerry retired as the Peach County Road Superintendent after 34 years of service. He served as volunteer firefighter with the Fort Valley and Peach County Fire Departments and also served as a member of the Peach County Sheriff’s Auxiliary. An avid outdoorsman, his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. After official retirement, operating heavy equipment for the Hancock Family Farm remained his true passion well into his latter years.
Jerry is survived by his three loving and devoted sons, Edgar Clayton Bryan (Sharon), Steven Mark Bryan, and Jeffery Todd Bryan (Wendy). Grandchildren, Melissa Alden (Travis), Clay Bryan (Amber) and Laura Liz Bryan. Great-grandchildren, Taylor Alden, Ross Alden, Harris Bryan, and Mattie Bryan. Sister, Frances Bryan Bowden (Ronnie). Sister-in-law, Helen Bryan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Marie (Anthoine) Bryan, parents Thelmon Clayton Bryan and Frances “Tiny” Vining Bryan, and brother David Charles Bryan.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire Georgia Hospice Care Team for the incredible amount of love and compassion shown to daddy during his last days.

Gregg was born in Fort Valley, GA on August 21, 1961, to the late Roy Shelnutt and Mary Eugenia (Burkhalter) Shelnutt. He graduated from Perry High School in 1979, Go Panthers! Gregg was a self-employed carpenter for his own business for many years before retiring. He was instrumental in the remodeling of the historic Train Depot in Byron, GA. Gregg was previously employed at Blue Bird Wonder Lodge and the Bibb Company in Fort Valley, GA. He loved music and played many instruments such as the sax and piano, but was known for playing the bass guitar. Heaven is thumping a little louder now there is another bass player. He loved fishing, painting, and was the owner of the Chick Wagon. He was a faithful servant of Our Lord and Savior.
Along with his parents, Gregg is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Sue (Luwman) Shelnutt.
Gregg is survived by his son: Benjamin Shelnutt (Kelly) of Bonaire, GA; daughter: Leah Baker (Robert) of Perry, GA; 9 grandchildren; sister: Tracie Daye (Daryl) of Fort Valley, GA; and brother: Joey Shelnutt (Dena) of Fort Valley, GA.

Jeffrey was born on August 12, 1956, in Montgomery, AL to the late Merle Lendon and Elizabeth (Shepherd) Lendon. He was a Restaurant Manager in his younger years, which was one of his greatest strengths. He retired from Tyco manufacturing in 2020 after being employed there for many years. Jeffrey was a light to so many around him, you could always count on a smile and a wave when seeing him. He loved quality time with family and friends. In his spare time, Jeffrey enjoyed golfing, fishing, bicycling, bowling, hiking, playing baseball with his grandchildren, listening to music & watching sports on TV . He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Jeffrey is preceded in death by his brother: Ken Lendon.

Obituary Preview: Reynolds, GA - It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Respress Fountain, Jr. lovingly known as Dan and DJ, on April 9, 2024. He was Born on July 25, 1940, to the late Daniel Respress Fountain Sr. and Frances Putnam.
Dan attended Reynolds High School and faithfully served in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Jackson. He also served with the National Guard for several years before joining Robins Air Force Base, where he dedicated his career until retirement. Apart from his work, Dan had a passion for gambling and proudly believed he excelled at it. His life was adorned with various accomplishments, including being an Eagle Scout, a Sharpshooter, and a proud member of the Freemasons and Shriners.
Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Known for his humor and contagious smile, he often encouraged others to "just smell the roses." He stood by his beloved wife Carol during her illness and has now reunited with her in Heaven, where they continue their laughter-filled journey together.
A man of strong faith, in his early life Dan never missed a day of Sunday School and served as a Deacon in the Reynolds Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving daughter Susan Hartley, grandson Luke Hartley, sister Sara Fountain, brothers Tom Fountain (Carol) and Richard Fountain (Kay), and niece Tonya Fountain Kolman (Ricky).
Dan was a cherished member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church (now Trinity Church of Reynolds). In honor of his memory, donations can be made to the Trinity Church (https://www.trinitychurchofreynoldsga.org/donate). Visitation will be held April 20 at 12:00 pm at Trinity Church of Reynolds, with the funeral service following at 1:00.
While his presence will be deeply missed, Dan's infectious spirit would want us to remember the happy times and carry on with smiles on our faces. Let us honor his memory by cherishing the moments shared and spreading joy, just as he did throughout his life.

Lisa was born on March 30, 1963, in Taylor, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Shirley (Evans) Curnow. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Lolli. Family has always been the most important thing to Lisa, and her greatest joy in life was being a mother and most recently becoming a “Lolli”. She consistently lived her life by always putting others first and caring for their needs above her own. Lisa enjoyed traveling, vacationing to the beach, the mountains, but her favorite place to visit was Disney World. She also enjoyed simpler family times like hanging pool side or game night with the kids.

He was a hard worker and worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Robins Air Force Base for many years. He was married to the love of his life, Tina (Sayre) Stephens. Russell was a 1983 graduate of Northside High School and played varsity football, Go Eagles! He was an avid music listener and loved all genres including southern rock and still water and artists such as Marshall Tucker, ZZ Top, the Allman Brothers, and Lynard Skynard. Russell also enjoyed reading hunting and collecting guns. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his son, James Randall “Randy” Stephens.

Olen Bethel Reid - January 20, 1931 - April 03, 2024

Obituary Preview: Olen B. Reid, Jr., age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, at SummerHill, Perry, Ga. He was born January 20, 1931, as the beloved only son to Olen and Ruth Skipper Reid, each who predeceased him. He graduated from R. E. Lee High School, Thomaston, Ga. and began working at age of 13 at the local A&P Grocery store, eventually becoming head of the produce department. He attended Georgia Southwestern College, Americus, Ga., and, after receipt of a scholarship for his excellent grades, transferred to Georgia Tech, Atlanta, to study textile engineering. He served in the Army National Guard for 12 years. Having a natural knack for selling, he took a position as a life insurance salesperson for The National Life and Accident Insurance Co. based in Nashville, Tenn., serving in his hometown of Thomaston, Ga., area. He later relocated to the bustling peach-packing town of Fort Valley, Ga., where he met the love of his life, Rosemary Sheppard, at a local café. They married at the home of her Aunt Elizabeth Sheppard McLeod in Pineview, Ga., in 1954 and enjoyed 70 wonderful years together, including memorable trips around the world.
During his tenure with The National Life and Accident Insurance Company, he rose to be on the President’s Council and served as president of the Peach Belt Life Underwriters Association and President of the Georgia State Association of Life Underwriters. Upon retirement from National Life, he and his wife established the independent Reid Insurance Agency in Fort Valley to continue to meet various insurance needs of their many clients.
Never losing his love of farming from his wonderful memories of helping his grandaddy farm in Thomaston, Ga., he quickly became friends with Monsieur Paul Vincent from Metz, France, who purchased a farm in Peach County, Ga. He helped Monsieur Vincent with daily farm operations, as well as cultivated wheat straw to be combined with local highway seeding businesses throughout the south. For at least 10 years, he was affectionally called “Mr. Peach” by his many loyal customers in Gainesville, Fla., who were the beneficiaries of the truckloads of fresh picked peaches that morning and into their hands that afternoon.
Olen and Rosemary attended the First Baptist Church of Fort Valley where he was a faithful member of the The Frank Witholft Sunday School class.
Mr. Reid is survived by his wife, Rosemary Sheppard Reid, Fort Valley; only daughter Renee Reid Buchanan (Scott) Gainesville, Fla., granddaughter Dr. Anna Caroline Buchanan Fisher (Ryan), Gainesville; grandson Spencer Reid Buchanan, Gainesville. Relatives Col. John I. Wood (Randi) of Raleigh, NC, and Dr. Samuel Wood (Linda) of Summerville, SC, were like brothers to him. His life also was enriched my many lovely friends who enjoyed robust games of bridge, breakfast, and enjoyable lunch outings.

Lucy was born on October 3, 1953, in Lyons, GA to the late Rev James McGahee and Lucille (Mosely) McGahee. She was a hard worker and worked as a registered nurse for Summerhill Senior Living for many years before retiring. She was married to the love of her life, Wayne Albritton. Lucy unconditionally gave love to everyone around her including friends, family, and coworkers. She loved the beach and relaxing with her family. She served the Lord and was very strong in her faith and served others by helping in any way she could. Lucy also had such an infectious laugh that could light up a room. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her great nephew, Daxon Jennings. He was a former Warner Robins Police officer and Firefighter. He was a co-owner of Classic Hair Design with his beloved wife, Joellen Knight. Don had a strong faith and was faithful in studying God’s word and spending time in prayer. In his spare time, Don enjoyed restoring Porsche automobiles and spending time with his family.

Gene was born on November 30, 1935, in Anna, Illinois to the late Austin Carl and Vera (Pollard) Vaughn. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wyona (Vaughn) and brother-in-law, Bruce Turner.
Gene honorably served in the United States Air Force. After his military service he worked in Aerospace/ Automotive tooling for 45 years. He was also involved with the RC Flying Clubs in Perry and Fort Valley, GA. He loved to build and fly airplanes. His dad gave him his first model airplane when he was 8 years old. He also enjoyed boating and racecar driving. Gene was attending City Church of Warner Robins, GA prior to his decline in health.

Obituary Preview: Warner Robins, GA - Maxine Moore Stephens, 88, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her residence. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Her favorite pastor, Dr. Benny Tate of Rock Springs Church, will be officiating the services.
Maxine was born on July 21, 1935, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Ben White and the late Evelyn Sears Woodall (Noah). Maxine was a godly lady who loved her Lord and Savior with all that was within her. She loved sharing her strong faith with everyone she met, she loved gospel music and praising our Lord in song. She graduated high school from Robert E. Lee in Thomaston and then attended Georgia Southwestern College before moving home to care for her elderly parents. Maxine then went on to marry the love of her life for 64 years, James Henry "Turtle" Stephens. She was a proud military wife who supported her husband and children in everything, she was their biggest fan. Maxine worked as a civil service employee all over the world prior to retiring from Robins AFB in Procurement for the F-15. In her spare time, Maxine enjoyed traveling worldwide, RV camping, reading, playing the piano, playing cards, crocheting but most of all attending all her family's events...she didn't want to miss a thing. Her greatest pride and joy were her family, if you asked her a question about one of them, you didn't get an answer...you got a story. Maxine always had a beautiful smile on her face, it will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Henry "Turtle" Stephens; grandson, Randy Stephens; sister, Colleen Taylor and her many fur babies.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy Stephens, Stephanie Franks (Terry) and Russell Stephens (Tina) all of Warner Robins GA. Her grandchildren: Jason Stephens (Sara), Dawson Stephens (Darian), Jessica Beal, Amber Balltzglier (Mark), Mylissa Horn and Jeremiah Stephens. Her great grandchildren: Baylor, Nora, Thatcher, Madison, Chandler, Hess, Harper, Holland, Dallas and Sara and other family and friends.

David was born on May 5, 1943, in Columbus, GA to the late George Talma and Annie Mae (Morgan) Luttrell. He was a hard worker, who could do anything with his hands. David was a retired salesman from Cameron & Barkley Company after many years. He unconditionally gave his life to God and had unwavering faith in God, the Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. He showed his faith in his works and in the way he lived every day of his life.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Diana Brook Sires, and his brother, James G. Luttrell.

Michael was born on November 17, 1989, in Hawkinsville, GA to the late James Scott McGlamry and Mrs. Delcie Jeanette (Kyzar) Wheeler. He had a heart of gold and would helped anyone in need. He was such a hard worker and always put 100% into everything he did. As a child, Michael was very athletic. He loved Baseball, Basketball, Football, and gymnastics. His freshman year of High School, Michael was on the Warner Robins High School State Championship Football Team. His favorite sport, however, was Martial Arts especially with his mom, Delcie. In his older years, Michael enjoyed being outdoors and hunting, fishing, and riding four wheelers at his grandparents’ house. He was also a big kid at heart. He loved all types of movies and playing video games. His greatest joy, however, was his family whom he loved endlessly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Darlene Prince, born in Macon, GA, and moved to Norfolk, VA at the age of two, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family. She graduated from Norview High in 1962.
After completing her education, she embraced motherhood, nurturing five daughters with unwavering love. Demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication, she thrived in the paint and wallpaper trade, later welcoming a sixth daughter into her life in 1987. In 2009, after twenty years of devoted service, she retired from Grand Cypress Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
After retiring, she extended her caring nature by tending to the needs of others. This compassion, alongside her commitment to her faith, eventually led her to relocate to Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground in 2014, where she resided until her peaceful passing.
Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to John and Janet Keldahl for their unwavering friendship and support during her time with them.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of reading, helping others, and held a profound love for Christmas.
In addition to both parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Martha Simmons, brother-in-law, Kendrick Mustin, daughter, Angela Simons, and great-grandson, Wesley Boutalis. She is survived by three sisters: Loretta Mustin, Marsha (Bobby) Reese, and Genara (Bob) Holladay; five daughters: Laurene Prince, Larrisa Prince, Lanette (Chris) Lord, Christina (Anton) Prince-Hansen, and Sheryl (Dave) Sulick; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loving friends.
A drop-in visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at the Christ Sanctified Holy Church Bible School Chapel . A funeral service to celebrate Darlene's life will take place at 2:00 pm on April 6, 2024, at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Bible School Chapel, located at 2500 N Hwy 41, Fort Valley, GA 31030.
