Rosemary Clark - May 24, 1949 - April 05, 2024

Departed: 04/05/2024 (Vinita)
Obituary Preview: Rosemary Clark, our adored lady of leisure, died on Friday, April 5, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 74. From the plains of Kansas to the rolling hills of southwest Missouri and the lake life of northeast Oklahoma, Rosemary lived a life full of family.
On May 24th, 1949, in Great Bend, Kansas, Rosemary was born fifth of the six children to Richard and Mary Gunn. Deeply rooted in American history, the Gunn value of family loyalty shaped Rose’s early years. She is now rejoined with her parents, her beloved brother, Joe, and leaves behind her remaining sister, Kathy and her family, and her brothers, Bill, Bob, and Lyle and their families.
As a young adult, Rosemary attended Kanas State Teacher’s College and received her diploma to be a schoolteacher. It was there she met her lifelong mate, John Chris Clark of Augusta, Kansas.
Married for 51 years, Rosemary and Chris walked hand-in-hand through life’s ups and downs. Chris will continue to walk with Rose in his heart, cherishing all the years he had her by his side.
The couple started their newlywed life in Augusta. Rosemary was welcomed into the comfort of the numerous members of her new Clark family, and she touched so many with her generous nature. All her remaining in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews hold Rose’s light as a beacon of remembrance, especially Phyllis and Loren Roberts, Chris’s aunt and uncle who Rose adored as her own.
Surrounded by the extended Clark clan, Rosemary and Chris brought three boisterous boys into the world, Dr. Christian Dietrich Clark, MD, Dr. Joseph Crawford Clark, DC, and Bryan Bendel Clark, MBA. Rosemary was unwaveringly dedicated to raising her boys. After moving their family to Neosho, Missouri, Rosemary could always be found cheering on her boys from the stands, tutoring them through their academic successes, or hosting their wild Spring Break parties. Each now a success in their own right, her boys were and will always be the central light of Rosemary’s life.
After the boys grew, Rosemary and Chris moved to Hays, Kansas. It was during these years, Rosemary and Chris’s family grew to include their daughters-in-law, Dr. Jennifer MacDonald Clark and Joy Hubele Clark. With the welcoming of her grandchildren, Elyse Rosemarie Clark and Cian Dietrich Clark, Rosemary’s love bloomed. From the most spectacular Christmas mornings to the cheekiest of smiles, Rosemary’s expansive grandmotherly love will forever envelope those most dear to her.
Rosemary and Chris finally settled into their retirement life on the Grand Lake O’the Cherokees. From the perch of her favorite lounger, Rose conducted countless family gatherings full of barbecue, beer, and belly laughs. Though no longer here to partake in the festivities, Rose, now in spirit, will be heard in the stories, felt in the giggles, and endured in our memories.

Waydene Moore - September 22, 1943 - February 25, 2024

Departed: 02/25/2024 (Vinita)
Obituary Preview: Loretta Waydene Moore,
In the early hours of Sunday, February 25, 2024, time stood still in the Kingdom of Heaven as Loretta Waydene Moore walked in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
On September 22, 1943, Waydene was born to Wayne and Geraldine Taylor. As her father served overseas in World War Two, Waydene and her mother lived on Timber Hill on her grandparents’ farm. When their small family reunited, they stayed in Timber Hill area where Waydene attended her first 8 years of School and continued her education in Bluejacket.
She was raised with her two brothers, Jerry, and Darrell. With the age difference of 6 and 9 years apart from Waydene, to this day stories are told about the girl and the two ornery little boys. While in high school, Waydene met the love of her life and wed Jesse Moore in the presence of two witnesses at the justice of the peace in Miami, Oklahoma. Their marriage has been an absolute testament to all who knows them by honoring their vows of “in sickness and in health” at Waydene’s passing, they were only two months short of 65 years of marriage. In 1961 Jess and Waydene brought Sherry, their daughter, into their lives, and soon after made it a family of four by welcoming Ronda.
In 1962 Jess introduced Waydene to the ranching life, which was far different than her grandfather’s farming. Whether it be nursing a baby calf back to health in her kitchen or feeding 20 hungry cowboys at her table, she fell right into the ranching lifestyle. Waydene enjoyed her flower gardens, and she was and excellent seamstress and made many western shirts and frilly dresses for her young girls. She was known for her coconut cream and chocolate pies and took her talent with her when she and her sister-in-law Anita opened the Welch Sale Barn Cafe. With 10 years at the café and many years of cooking for cowboys and family, Waydene’s cooking was well known, and “tasted” by many.
As she made their home in Centralia, Waydene left a legacy to Sherry and Ronda and granddaughters Jessica and Kelsey by showing her love of family and extended family with her whole heart and she cherished the times they were all together.
Waydene was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister in law Aliene Taylor, brother in law John Moore, sister in law Mickey Myers, Niece Gena Lankford, and two great nieces, Payton Taylor, and Avery Page.
She is survived by her husband Jess of their home in Centralia, her daughter Sherry Hall and son in law Brad of Lenapah, daughter Ronda of Ramona, OK. She leaves behind a grandson Matthew Hall and wife Amanda, granddaughter Jessica Upshaw and husband Aaron, granddaughter Kelsey Tom and husband Dace. Missing their Grandma Dene are great grandchildren Nash and Jade Upshaw, Clara Tom, Rion and Madelyn Hall, and Brennan Longacre. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Jerry Taylor and Darrell Taylor and sister in law Anita, and her sister in law Carol Monfort, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.

Wesley Sufficool - August 26, 1938 - February 20, 2024

Departed: 02/20/2024 (Vinita)
Obituary Preview: Wesley Lloyd Sufficool, Sr. was born in Walla Walla, Washington on August 26, 1938, to Vance E. Sufficool and Augusta E. Sufficool. Wesley passed away on February 20, 2024, in Tulsa, OK after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neta Garside (sister), Evert Sufficool (brother), Levi Dixon (grandson), and Jason Hughes (honorary grandson).
He leaves behind three children and their spouses: Wesley L. Sufficool, Jr. and Tessa of Rapid City, SD; Debi Sufficool Dixon and Jeffrey of Edmond, OK; and Donna Sufficool Arciniega and Drew of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by a grandson (who he had a hand in raising) Ryan Baker, Ryan’s spouse Nora, and their daughters Sloane and Finley; Ina Lee (sister) of Sweet Home, OR; long-time companion Betty Sufficool, and numerous grandchildren.
Wes was raised in southern California where he seemed to make it his mission to get kicked out of every Seventh Day Adventist Academy in the state. He enjoyed fighting and pushing the rules. He managed to get kicked out a couple months shy of graduation, so he never finished high school. That didn’t diminish his work ethic, which always allowed him to provide for himself, his family, and others that were in need. While he may have had a rough and gruff attitude and did enjoy a good fight, he always had a soft heart. He believed it was his duty to take care of people that were less fortunate than he was, and he took that very seriously. We will never know the full extent of his generosity and everything he did to help others. When asked, he would characterize this with “Well I guess they needed it more than I did”.
After moving from California in the early 1960’s, Wes acquired property in the Ketchum area and started raising cattle and crops but still found he needed a steady paycheck. He was never afraid of hard work and started painting in the Vinita area. He ended up becoming an industrial painter when he went to work for John Byrd and continued working for John’s companies throughout his painting career. Wes and his crew would travel throughout the region trouble shooting for the company. They were frequently sent to jobs that were challenging, or as Wes put it, “where someone else had already f*&%d things up”. He was highly respected in his profession. He retired from Specialized Industrial Services. During those years as a painter, he spent lots of time on the road and developed close relationships with many on his painting crew. Special friendships were formed through those years with Dean and Debra Hughes and Cy and Cathy Austin. The people on his crew were extended family, and he remained close with many of them until his death. Also, after Wes’s retirement, Ryan came to live with him. He and Ryan were bachelors together and formed a special bond during that time.
While Wes was on the road, the farm had to be cared for, so he taught his children what needed to be done. As the oldest, Wes Jr. was responsible for taking care of the cows with Donna tagging along. As the two of them remember it, Debi spent more time reading than helping. When Wes Jr. was a freshman in high school, he began traveling with Wes on the painting crew. This meant the cattle were sold and a completely different educational experience began for Wes Jr.
After retirement he began to build his herd back and enjoyed many years of caring for his cattle and land. He always loved working his property, keeping it in tip top shape, spraying weeds, baling hay and bulldozing to clear trees. The bulldozer may not have been his best idea. Just getting it delivered caused a lot of drama since he had his first stroke while waiting for it to be delivered. He refused to go to the hospital until the bulldozer arrived and even threatened Betty that if she called an ambulance, he would just go out and hide from them somewhere in the pasture. Debi finally convinced him to go to the hospital, but he wasn’t happy about it! He never really was good with that bulldozer. He even ran over his four-wheeler with it and had to walk all the way back to the house from the back pasture. Wes finally had to hire someone to help with the farm, and it bothered him that he couldn’t be out with his cattle. Even while in the hospital, he looked forward to getting back out to the pastures on his four-wheeler to check his cattle. Besides the cattle and other animals (the Emus!) that Wes raised, he loved his dogs and had several special ones throughout his life. He treated them like family, letting them sleep with him and sharing food from his plate with them.
In the last few years, Wes had decided to restore a 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe and a 1978 Ford F-150. These two projects may have cost him a little more than they should have. In his desire to save a dime here and there, he ended up spending more than he might have had to. He was able to take the F-150 for a spin shortly before his last hospitalization. Wes led a full and productive life filled with many friends, projects, and hard work. At the end, his greatest pride was that he had raised his children to be strong and self-sufficient because of the work ethic he instilled in them. As a good friend put it, “There is, was and will only ever be one Wes.”
