Coleman JM Candelario - April 10, 1996 - April 22, 2024

Departed: 04/22/2024 (Milford)
Obituary Preview: Our dearest Coleman (Coley) John Martin Candelario passed away in late April, just after his 28th birthday, at Boston Children’s Hospital. This is where he had a lifetime of care that supported and sustained his years with us all. Coley was a lifelong resident of Milford and loved his community. He was no stranger to anyone and treated everyone as a friend. Coley had an amazing gift of absorbing people into his life.
Coley is predeceased by his brother Austin Padraic Candelario and his maternal Pa, Richard John Vaughan. Coley is survived by his dedicated parents Kath and Orlando “Tony” Candelario; his three incredibly important sisters, Emmalee, Olivia “Vee”, and Charli Vaughan Candelario; nephews, Wells Scott and Riggs Balor Candelario ( who were the light of his life); brothers and best friends, Antonio, Seth and Deane Candelario; his maternal Nanny, Helen Houghton Vaughan; paternal grandparents, Antonio and Doraida Candelario. He is also survived by his Godparents, Linda Vaughan Jerrett and A.J. Jerrett of Reading, MA. He is also survived by his Milford Hardwood family,(momma) Julie Atherton, Shawn Atherton, Pete and Cheryl Vignone. There are too many cousins, and family members who hold a special place in Coley’s life to mention. He was incredibly blessed with what we refer to as our “Framily” (friends who are family).
Our amazing Coley, worked silently and tirelessly to spread kindness, light and love to whoever he came in contact with. A very private soul in his community support, Coley needed no accolades for his kind acts. He clothed people who needed it; fed those who were hungry; paid for kids to travel to doctors appointments; sent gift cards to families in need of groceries or gas; spoke publicly to the youth about perseverance and doing hard things; and took cardiac patients in the hospital under his wing, offering camaraderie and a gentle ear. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Coley would say: "I just feel better around him”, “He is a calming spirit”, “He has light in his bones”, “He is so special”, “He shines bright like the sun”, “Kindness incarnate”. There are too many things people would say about him, that it would take pages to list them all. He was simply very special, intuitive and gracious.
Coley would give even when he had nothing. His time was his most precious commodity and he knew it. He never wasted a moment to tell someone how important they are to him or how loved by him they truly are. Coley loved hard and fierce, with every fiber of his being. He said it every time… every time.
For those who weren’t aware, Coley was a huge foodie and loved experimenting with new flavors and recipes, as well as feeding all those around him with his culinary creations. He was always looking for new ways to nourish his body, mind and soul. He meditated daily and always looked for peace. An academic at heart, Coley had just finished achieving multiple cyber security, IT, and SQL certificates. He was an avid learner, never without a book in his hand. Coley was fascinated by science, the galaxy and neuroplasticity. He loved learning about the brain and how it worked.
Our Coley barely spoke above a whisper and was the sweetest soul. He loved his family boldly and unapologetically. If he loved you, you knew it, without a doubt.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 12 Noon – 3 PM at Plains Park, 60 Cedar Street, Milford. Michael J. Imparato, Jr. - December 06, 1950 - February 26, 2024

Departed: 02/26/2024 (Milford)
Obituary Preview: Michael J. Imparato, Jr., aged 73, passed away surrounded by his family on February 26th, in Mendon, MA, after his courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born in Jamaica Plain, MA, on December 6, 1950, to the late Michael J. and Florence (Poirier) Imparato.
Michael grew up in Natick, where he graduated in 1968. He then went into the trades where he became an electrician, joining both the electrical and carpenter unions. Years later his love for cooking led him to Johnson & Wales, where he perfected his skills in the kitchen. Mouths would water for days in anticipation of his sausage-bread and homemade Italian dishes.
He recently retired from Stanley Access where he installed automatic doors throughout New England. Anyone who has spent time in the car with him will know how he would joyfully point out every door he had installed over the past 25 years. After retirement, he dove into his love for woodworking and helping his children and friends with their various household projects.
He was known as "Mr. Fix It," Michael could tackle any challenge, whether it was a complex carpentry project or a simple household repair. His love for carpentry was only matched by his passion for his many trips to Home Depot, which were as much a hobby as they were a chore. Those who knew him will fondly recall his dry, quick wit and his knack for telling a great story.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lois (Meninno) Imparato. Together, they built a family that includes their loving children: Micah Imparato and his wife Stacy of North Attleboro, Amanda Imparato and her significant other Lucas Hammar of Westminster, Zachary Imparato of Mendon, Corey Imparato of Boston, and Alyssa Imparato of Mendon. He was also a grandfather to Morgan and Gavin Imparato. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephen Imparato and his wife Susan of New Zealand, Alan Imparato and his wife Susan of Attleboro, Joseph Imparato and his wife Elizabeth of Brewster, Donna Lightbody and her husband Tim of Arizona, and John Imparato and his wife Lori of Bellingham, and an abundant amount of nieces and nephews.
Everyone will remember him as the person who could always be relied upon for support, a story, or a clever joke at just the right moment. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 29 from 4-7 PM at Buma Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford.
Funeral services will be from the funeral home at 9:00 AM with procession leaving at 9:45AM for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 E. Main Street, Milford, MA 01757.

David B. Lowell - March 28, 1941 - February 21, 2024

Departed: 02/21/2024 (Milford)
Obituary Preview: We are deeply saddened to share the news that David B. Lowell, nearly 83, died peacefully at home in his beloved Mendon on February 21, 2024, with Jane, his loving wife of 50 years, by his side. During his short and unexpected illness, he lovingly reassured family members, reminding them that, “life goes on.”
David's journey began on March 28, 1941. A lifelong Mendon resident, his life was marked by storied generosity, a seemingly endless curiosity, and a generous affection for community and human eccentricities. His life was a radiant tapestry woven with boundless dedication, genuine warmth, and an unyielding commitment to helping others.
A graduate of Mendon High School, David attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, then left to join the Navy, serving as a Navy Hospital Corpsman aboard the USS Liberty (before the Incident).
After his honorable service in the Navy, David transitioned into the civilian sector, joining his father in the insurance business, where his office became a lunchtime conversation center for over four decades.
A passionate antique dealer since his teenage years, David ran the Mendon Antique Center out of the historic Ammidon Tavern in downtown Mendon. Sited along the oldest interstate highway in North America, the inn embodied David’s remarkable zest for history, falling into the “Washington (almost) slept here” category, as the President intended to stay there, but, as the story goes, he was compelled to go to Samuel Taft’s Tavern in Uxbridge instead.
While David operated the Mendon Antique Center as a business, it was more about fostering connections within the antiques community, engaging with fellow enthusiasts and sharing stories, rather than seeking financial gain or turning a profit.
Renowned for his own “moxie,” David was a proud member of the New England Moxie Congress (NEMC), and his passion for history was further exemplified by his purchase and preservation (with friend, Paul Hemen) of the Moxie Bottle House, now owned by the Matthews Museum of Maine Heritage.
David dedicated his life to serving the community as an active member of the Mendon Unitarian Universalist Church, the Mendon Historical Society and Preservation Mendon. Additionally, he contributed his time and expertise to the Mendon Housing Board and the board of Milford National Bank, tirelessly working to better the town he cherished.
He patiently tolerated additions to the household, including animals that his wife or kids brought home (just as they tolerated his). Over the years, these included geese, donkeys, miniature horses, and a laboratory goat named, simply, “97,” all of which contributed to the bustling and vibrant atmosphere of their farm on Millville Road.
Apart from his professional and community engagements, David's interests painted the picture of a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life: trainspotting, a fresh glass of milk, or a plate of franks & beans.
In addition to his wife, Jane E. (Fallon) Lowell, David is also survived by their daughters, Leah Shattuck and her husband David of West Brookfield, Allison Lowell of Mendon, Susan Lowell of Hopedale, and Elsbeth Connolly and her husband Sean of Epsom, NH, a brother, Freeman Lowell of Florida and sister-in-law Sally Lowell of Cohasset. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents, Donald Bennet and Helen (Trask) Lowell, daughter Elaine Coburn Lowell, and a brother, Ronald Trask Lowell.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 4-7 PM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford.
Funeral services will be held on February 28, 2024 at 11AM in the Mendon Unitarian Church, 13 Maple St., Mendon.

A gifted varsity athlete, he excelled in basketball, football, and track and field, holding the Maine State Record for both Discus and Javelin for several years. In his senior year, he was voted the Mayor of Deering High, where he was admired and respected by his classmates. Russ cherished his years in Portland and often shared stories of his youth and his many friendships.
Following high school, Russ attended classes at Portland Junior College before proudly serving in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS, and Osan Air Base in South Korea, where he helped to rebuild and restore the electrical and communication infrastructure following the Korean War.
In 1956, he met the love of his life, Janice Louise Quinlan, at New England Telephone Company on Franklin Street in Boston. They married in November of 1959, embarking on a 64-year journey together. They resided in Framingham, MA for over 50 years, where they raised their six children.
Russ retired from Verizon (formerly ATT, New England Telephone) after 35 years of dedicated service, later working as a consultant. He worked tirelessly, even taking on second and third jobs at the Chateau de Ville, Merchant Tire, and the Coach Grill, to fulfill his dream of sending all six children to college.
Russ’s greatest joy in life was his family; he treasured the time he spent with Janice, his six children,16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and extended family. He was a pillar of support, always present on the sidelines, and imparted wisdom with a quiet countenance.

He could spark a conversation with anyone and was sincerely interested in learning about others. A selfless and hardworking individual, Russ lived in service to others. He lent a hand whenever needed, whether it was shoveling the snow for an elderly neighbor, assisting disabled vehicles along a highway, or running errands for his friends or kids. Russ, a true "MacGyver", could tackle any challenge with ease and there was never a need for a handyman when he was around.
In his later years, Russ found joy in taking car rides with Janice, visiting family and friends, and attending his grandchildren's sporting and school events. An avid golfer, he enjoyed courses on Cape Cod as well as participating in the Wednesday golf league at Juniper Hills in Northborough, MA. He was a devoted fan of all New England sports teams and had a particular fondness for the Celtics. Russ cherished spending time on Cape Cod and traveling to visit family and friends in Maine, Virginia, New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado and Florida.

Gerald (Kate) Brown of Liberty, MO, Jane (Brendan) Meehan of Westborough, MA, and Jennifer (Sean) McCarthy of North Grafton, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Leroy Allen Brown, daughter-in-law Lori Till Brown, and granddaughter Allyson Brown.
