Why are obituaries important?

Who typically writes an obituary?

The task of writing an obituary usually falls on the family members or close friends of the deceased. In some cases, a funeral home or obituary writer may assist with the writing process.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, city of residence, and a brief biography that highlights their achievements, hobbies, and interests. It may also include information about their surviving family members, funeral or memorial service details, and any charities or organizations that donations can be made to in their memory.

How long should an obituary be?
