Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Theresa (Parker) Wallace, his daughter Sherrie Wallace, his step-daughter Rochella Glasper, and his parents. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Earl Ball, Tommy Ball, Homer Ball, Myrtle Davenport, and Jewel Ball.

His legacy continues through his surviving children, Lola Brown, Venita Wallace, Lee Taylor, and Devon Wallace, and his god-daughter Tara Smith. Joseph's life was further enriched by his 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his siblings Pearl Hunt, Mary Thomas, Delois White, and Ida Taylor.

Racing was another of Ron's thrills; the South Bend Motor Speedway was his haven, a place where he could revel in the speed and camaraderie of the track. Ron was also a talented mechanic, often found working on trucks and cars, a pastime that spoke to his practical nature and problem-solving abilities.

Ron's energy was boundless; he never sat idle and was always busy with a project or adventure, often with a grandchild or two in tow. Ron was truly a one-of-a-kind guy, irreplaceable in the hearts of those who knew him. Quirky and tenderhearted, he never met a stranger. Gerald was born July 5, 1962 in Niles, Michigan to Donald and Elvira Riley, and attended Brandywine Community Schools. All his life, Gerald loved to fix things — if it had a motor, he could take it apart and make it better. The same goes for his relationship with loved ones; nothing made him happier than bringing a smile to someone else’s face. He loved the Fighting Irish, old Western movies, all kinds of sweets, and his church, Bethel Tabernacle in Niles.

Though he grew up in Niles and spent much of his life in Mishawaka and Elkhart, Edwardsburg became his home later in life, which was fitting considering how much he loved to be by the water. Most days, he could be found taking care of lawns on Eagle Lake — a boom box on the back of his tractor, a baseball cap on his head, and a goofy grin on his face. When he wasn’t mowing lawns or razzing friends and family, he typically had a fishing pole in his hands. His greatest joy throughout his cancer journey was escaping up north with his dear friend.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Jr; three sisters, Eldonna, Mary and Sally; two nephews and one niece.

Gerald is survived by three children, Nolan Nickoson of Indianapolis, Ashley (Mark) Nicely of Elkhart, and Joshua Riley (Megan McAdams) of Goshen; the mother of his children, Ranae Myers of Elkhart; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Riley, Brooklynne, Morgan, Chloe, KayCee and Lakin; two sisters, LouAnn Miltenberger of South Bend, and Sandy (Floyd Brown) Neldon of Niles; six nieces; three nephews and a host of close friends who were like family.

Gerald will be laid to rest at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Julie was a devoted mother who was the first to volunteer for any school projects or events in the community, and took the time to be involved and present during her children’s developmental years. In addition, she was witty and intelligent, and always seemed to know the right thing to say.

Julie felt deeply and loved generously. Her absence is felt by all who were blessed to know her, even as her memory continues to inspire and guide us.

Even when her voice wasn't amplified by a karaoke machine, Linda was known for her humor and comic timing, and her funny sense of humor became a beacon of light for all who knew her. Behind her bright smile and infectious giggles, she demonstrated remarkable courage, facing her own struggles and pain with unwavering strength. Above all, Linda saw her greatest blessing in the cherished role of being a grandmother.

Linda's relentless pursuit to spread joy never waned. Despite her challenges, she aimed to put a smile on someone's face, illuminating the day-to-day life with her warmth. Bruce was an ardent fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars and was an avid reader having a keen interest in science fiction specifically. He was also a history buff, with an insatiable curiosity that enriched the lives around him. Bruce's life was a testament to his diverse interests and the profound impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Together, they navigated the waters of parenthood and cherished their children—daughter Brooke Polly, son Timothy Polly III, and stepson Pete Bryant. The joy of his days was further brightened by his treasured step-granddaughter, Ava. He was also a caring brother to Dawn Polly-Glosson and a dear “Cuzz“ to Mathew Havener. Tim's family roots were deep, drawing strength from the love and values instilled by his grandparents, William and Gloria Havener who preceded him in passing. Also left to cherish the memory of Tim are his life long friends, Brian Richie, Bobby Jernigan, Robby Moyer, Tim Vandusen, and Bob Grahl; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who he loved dearly.

A proud alumnus of Brandywine High School, Tim's commitment to his community began early and continued throughout his life. His work ethic was unparalleled; he spent over 25 years as a dedicated union roofer with Midland Engineering and a long-standing member of the Roofers Local 23. It was there that Tim found his second family, forming lifelong relationships built on mutual respect, trust, and camaraderie. His colleagues remember him not just for his skilled hands, but also for his wise counsel and heartfelt laughter that often echoed across the work site.

Tim's passion for the outdoors was legendary. Whether casting a line into tranquil waters or silently tracking game through the whispering woods, he was in his element—each adventure adding another chapter to the story of his life. Local races also ignited his excitement, a hobby that carried the thunderous roar of engines and the thrill of speed. Indoors, Tim's contentment came from the roar of another kind—supporting his beloved Chicago Bears football team with the same commitment and loyalty he displayed in all aspects of his life.

As a retired secretary from the Niles School System, Frances dedicated herself to enriching the lives of others, volunteering countless hours at the local hospital and spreading warmth by crocheting hats for newborn babies. An avid reader, Frances found solace in the pages of countless books, and she embraced the creative art of crocheting with passion.

Frances' enthusiasm for life was infectious; she cherished watching American Ninja Warrior and rooting for the Notre Dame Women's Basketball team. Together with her devoted husband, Carl, she ventured to various destinations, savoring the joys of traveling. Her leadership shone as a 4-H Leader and as a Pathfinder Leader in the Niles Westside Adventist Church, where she was a long-standing member. Frances' unwavering faith and devotion profoundly influenced her daughters, whom she loved dearly and for whom she strove to provide a Christian education. Frances' legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will forever be treasured by all who knew her.

William's happiness was evident in his numerous passions. He would often be found sitting by the campfire socializing with his family, where stories were shared, and laughter echoed into the night sky. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water's edge, waiting patiently for the catch of the day. His ears often played host to the twang of country music, a genre he adored and often had playing in the background during family gatherings.

Animals held a special place in William's heart, and he never hesitated to show kindness to every dog, cat, or creature he encountered. He cherished the company of animals and delighted in the unconditional love they offered. A true fan of adventure and exploration, his spirit found kindred bonds with the untamed joy and loyalty of his four-legged friends.

In his quieter moments, William enjoyed indulging in his favorite show, "Swamp People," captivated by the tales of resilience and survival. The moments he shared with his loved ones were precious gems, each treasured and kept close to his heart of gold.

Chuck was born on December 26, 1931, in Middleton, Michigan. He bravely served his country during World War II (1950-1953). It was after the war that he encountered the love of his life, Mary Ellen Purtill, at the Roller Rink.

Chuck's exceptional skating skills and graceful waltz on wheels captured Mary Ellen's heart, leading to a beautiful union that lasted for 68 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children. Chuck's passion for outdoor adventures was evident in his love for trail riding and camping with his children. He excelled in his career as a welder at Fisher Body, dedicating many years of hard work while simultaneously managing a bustling farm that quickly out grew its humble beginnings in Ithaca with thousands of chickens to a larger operation in St. Johns where hundreds of horses were raised.

An expert equestrian, Chuck shared his passion with others as a dedicated leader in 4H and served as the Colonel of the Gratiot County Sheriff’s Posse, making invaluable contributions to the construction of the Ithaca rodeo grounds with his welding expertise.

In retirement, Chuck and Mary Ellen enjoyed years of square-dancing across the country, including a memorable parade performance together. Chuck had an interest in travel and explored beautiful destinations worldwide with friends. He was known for his infectious humor, quick wit, and his love for dessert, never one to turn down a sweet treat.

Chuck will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, passion, and joy will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Ellen Wood; his three children, Alan (Cathy) Wood, Mark Wood, and Sue Sutherland; his granddaughter, Sarah (Ryan) Skinner; and his great-grandchildren, Elijah, Jude, Norah, and Griffin Skinner; his sister, Jane Allen; and brother-in-law, Harold Hinton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Pauline Wood; his brother, Norman (Adona); his sister Janice (Harold) Hinton; sister-in-law, Nancy Wood; and his brother-in-law, Max Allen.

After high school Karen married David Brudi. They were married for fifteen years and had three children. Karen's heart was always at home, which she filled with love and laughter alongside her devoted husband of 44 years, John R. McNelis. Together, they had a beautiful blended family, including their children Gina Brudi, John (Tamra) Brudi, Mary (Jeff) Hill, Sean (Tanya) McNelis, Becky (Brian) Lebeck, and Aaron (Glenda) McNelis. Her legacy further blossomed with the joy of her 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who will cherish memories of her boundless love and support. She is survived by her loving brother Dennis Dutoi, who will remember Karen as a guiding light in the family.

Artistic and creative, Karen had an eye for beauty, which she expressed through her painting, decorating, and gardening. She and John were also proud owners of an antique business, where Karen humorously referred to their home as a foster care for furniture pieces awaiting their new owners. Her artistry was a testament to her ability to see the potential and beauty in everything around her.

Travel was another passion for Karen and John, particularly trips to visit their children, who were spread across the country. These journeys were not only adventures but also a testament to the couple's dedication to family and their joy in being together.

Karen's love for animals was especially evident at the farm she and John maintained. Their miniature pony, KneeHigh, and their Jacob's sheep were more than just animals. They were part of the family and a source of immense joy for Karen, even when KneeHigh made the front page of the local paper for getting loose.

Karen's life was a lesson in love, a symphony of creativity, and a demonstration of the beauty that dedication to family can bring. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive through the stories told by her children, the laughter of her grandchildren, and the echoes of her influence that will continue to resonate in the lives of all who knew her.

In her personal life, Linda's heart was ever-expanding. She married her beloved husband, Robert Baker, and together they created a family that would become her biggest joy. Linda was the cherished mother of Lisa (Allen) Harte, Kristen (Timothy) Freeman, Mindy (John Jr.) Creech-Rydwelski, Shawnette Baker, and Thereasea Baker. Her legacy continued to blossom with the addition of 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom found in Linda an endless source of love and encouragement.

Linda was also a beloved sister to her late siblings, Agnes Bell and Robert Mullins, and is survived by Bud (Georgian) Mullins, Andra (James Jr.) Springsteen, Barbara (Donald) Sperow, Jim (Penny) Baker, Phyllis (Jens) Knudsen, and Linda Carnes.

Beyond her family and professional life, Linda's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She possessed a creative spirit, finding solace and joy in knitting and crocheting, crafting pieces that would become treasures to those who received them. An avid reader, she was always ready to share the stories that captured her imagination. Linda's love for family gatherings was profound, and she was the lifeblood of every reunion, where she was affectionately known as "Nana" to all.

Linda's sense of humor was one of her most defining traits. She had a unique ability to make anyone laugh, brightening the room with her wit and charm. Her humorous birthday cards were legendary, eagerly anticipated by friends and family alike for the smiles they were sure to bring.

Linda's family will be hosting a celebration of life will be held June 8th, at Arthur Dodd Memorial Park, 61437 Creek Road, Niles, MI, 49120 at 1:00pm.

In his younger years, John was known for his adventurous spirit, often seen riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, the roar of the engine a testament to his free spirit. His passions extended beyond riding, as his love for hunting and fishing provided not just a pastime, but a connection to nature that he cherished deeply. John's heart was as open as the skies he explored. His home was a sanctuary for strays, reflecting his deep love for animals. Among his beloved pets were his dogs - Harey, Cooper, and Pitricia, whom he cherished deeply. He often remarked that, “… a man could not get better dogs in their life…”.

His legacy is carried on by his family, including his children, Melissa (Brian) Shumaker and John Stokes II, and his grandchildren, Grace and Claire. John's sister, Norma Stokes, also survives him.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude and thanks to Michelle, Sherman, and the entire staff at Bridgman Retirement Home for their professional and compassionate care, and for their friendship with John over his last few years.

He adored his nieces and nephews—Brody, Brooklyn, Dylon, Dillon, Alexandria, Chris, Tanner, and Gabby—each of whom held a special place in his heart.

A 2003 graduate of Galien High School, Ty was an active student who participated in football and wrestling, showcasing his dedication and team spirit. After graduation, he immediately became a valued employee at AACOA/Bonnell Aluminum, where he dedicated over 20 years of service. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his family and friends.

Ty's love for sports was evident in his unwavering support for Notre Dame football, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs. Yet beyond being a sports enthusiast, he was also a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was a loving husband, a devoted son, a protective brother, and an adored uncle. He was a friend to everyone he met and carried a wild sense of humor that could light up any room.

Ty relished the times spent with his family, where he would grill out and smoke meat, creating memorable experiences for all. His zest for life and ability to make every gathering, or camping event, a celebration will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

An accomplished athlete, Tracy found solace in the sports he loved, achieving fame with his induction into the Niles Bowling Hall of Fame. His passion for the lanes was matched only by his enthusiasm for the golf course, where he was the meticulous secretary of several leagues, always ensuring fair play and camaraderie. Beyond the competitive spirit, Tracy was a bowler with heart, recognized for his contributions off the lanes as Elks Lodge's Officer of the Year, and was a respected member of the Eagles and Sons of the American Legion in Edwardsburg.

Tracy's interests stretched far beyond sports. A voracious reader, he was often found with a book in hand, diving into stories that captivated his imagination. Tracy was a terrific dancer and could always be found on the dance floor. Family vacations were a source of joy, as Tracy delighted in planning and embarking on adventures that fostered enduring memories. In the kitchen, his culinary talents shone, and he was famous for his delectable dishes that brought everyone to the table.

Active in his daughters' and grandchildren’s lives, Tracy, affectionately known as "Baba," was a fixture at their numerous activities, always there with his special patience and trademark bright-colored attire that reflected his vibrant personality. His grandchildren, in particular, were the recipients of his boundless love and playful spirit.

Within the community, Tracy was a steadfast member of his church, investing time and faith into every endeavor he undertook. His eclectic hat collection became a symbol of his unique approach to life, and his fondness for watching westerns was well-known among his friends and family.

Leaving a legacy as a proud organ donor, Tracy's final act was one of generosity, a testament to his enduring will to aid others. His legacy will live on not only through this gift but also through the lives he touched with his kindness, his mentorship, and his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Tracy will be profoundly missed, yet his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was best known for his loyalty to his family and friends. Always up for an adventure. He loved to go skiing in the mountains and anything to do with being in a lake or water. He would go golfing with his work friends & family.

Paul was an avid firefighter in Big Rapids and then went to the Thornapple Township Fire department when he moved home.

He is survived by Casey Haney (wife), Deborah & Philip Haney (mother and father), Kathy & Jeff Lawson (In laws), Maleah Haney (sister), Madeliene (Dominique) Haney (sister), Lois Lawson (grandparent), Laurie Doering (grandparent), Mike & April Lehr (grandparent). Together with Vera, he raised two sons, Rand and Scott Rusher, who remember their father as a pillar of strength and a fountain of wisdom. Max found joy in his role as a grandfather to Scott Rusher and Jared (Tiffany) Rusher, and he took immense pride in his great-grandchildren, Draden, Jackson, Chynna, Jaeden, Jordyn, and Amani.

His brother, Jack Rusher, also preceded him in death, leaving Max as a cherished memory in the hearts of those who knew him. His family will hold dear the lessons he imparted and the love he shared, ensuring that his legacy endures through generations. Max's professional life was not only defined by his work as a dentist but also by his active involvement within the community.

He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Kristen) Coughenour and Travis (MaryJo) Coughenour, who will remember him as a loving and supportive father. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Barrett, who brought immense joy and laughter to his later years. Anthony also maintained a respectful and caring relationship with his ex-wife, Patti Coughenour, with whom he shared many treasured memories. His siblings will miss him immensely, Sue Brown, Terry Elliott, Ricky Coughenour, and Diane Funkhouser. His sister, Robin Cole preceded him in death.
