Obituary Preview: Mr. David Lewis Cullen, age 81 of Mayfield, Ky passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 5:59 AM at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Ky.
His career was made up of Military, Law Enforcement, and Ministry. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving with the 28th Bomb Wing, 821st Air Division, and the Aerospace Group Titan I Missile Project. He also served 5 years with the California Air National Guard. In law enforcement he served as a Patrolman in Providence, Ky, Police Chief in Clay, Ky, and retired with 28 years service to Kentucky. He was also Vehicle Enforcement as Regional Commander. David was ordained in 1972 as a Minister, and pastored Beech Grove General Baptist Church in Dyersburg, Tn, Enon General Baptist Church in Marion, Ky, The Mount Lebanon General Baptist Church in Dixon, Ky, and The Cornerstone General Baptist Church in Bertand, Mo where he was currently a member.
Mr. Cullen is survived by his wife- Marie Timmons Cullen of Mayfield, Ky; four sons- Ronnie (Kelley) Cullen of Providence, Ky, Johnny (Shelly) Cullen of Marion, Ky, Jerry Cullen of Mayfield, Ky, and Steven (Jim Pat Wallace) Dupree of Paducah, Ky; one daughter- Cammie (Chad) Beasley of Mayfield, Ky; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his son- Michael David Cullen; father- James Cullen; mother- Ruby Curry Cullen Negley; stepfather- Ehlman Negley; two brothers- John Cullen and James Paul Cullen; sister- Sharon Pitzer.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Grace Life Church in Mayfield, Ky with Rev. Chad Lamb officiating. Friends may call after 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Grace Life Church in Mayfield, Ky. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26 at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Grace Life Church to start the visitation.

Nancy is survived by her 2 sons, Greg (Judy) Wilkerson and Richie (Marcy Bowland) Wilkerson both of Lowes, 6 grandchildren- Nathan Wilkerson, Dr. Paul Wilkerson, Kristin Hays, Sarah Sleadd, Karly Maxwell and Kylee Wilkerson and 10 Great Grandchildren- Jayden Stinson, Kanyn Wilkerson, Kye Wilkerson, Marlee Wilkerson, Jett Wilkerson, Asher Wilkerson, Kyler Hays, Hudson Hays, Brinley Maxwell and Brooks Maxwell.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wilkerson, Parents, Charles Richard and Lola Mae Riley Smtih, Daughter- Jackie Manning, Grandson- Derek Manning, 2 Brothers- Donnie Smith and Charlie Smith and Sister- Vickie Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Dr. Paul Wilkerson and Rev. Tim Ivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowes Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.

Lunell was preceded in death by her husband - Sidney Beadles; her parents - T.F. & Tula Jane (Butler) Hamilton; a granddaughter; a great-grandson and three brothers. Marie was a Homemaker, was of the Baptist Faith and trusted Jesus as her Savior as a young Mother. Marie was a loyal supportive wife, devoted Mother, loving Grandmother and Aunt. She was always bright eyed and had a lively spunky personality throughout her life. She was blessed with three granddaughters (Angela, Sofia, and Isabella) and three grandsons (Dallas, Donovan and Dane) and one great-grandson (Dakota).  She enjoyed spending time with all of them as well as with her extended family. She cherished the times she visited Carmen, Raff, and the girls in Atlanta and when they came home in the Summer and Christmas. She relished watching basketball with her grandsons and especially the UK Wildcats. She was often entertained by Dakota's imaginative characters. She loved working in her flower beds and especially loved tulips in the Spring. She is also survived by her son - Tony (Amy) Roell  of Clinton, KY; daughter - Tonja (Timothy) McKinney of Mayfield, KY; step-son - Paul (Debbie) Roell of Indianapolis, IN; three step-daughters - Regina (David) Gill of Danville, IN, Tammy Dickert of Brownsberg, IN and Tina Boyd of Indianapolis, IN. Marie was preceded in death by her husband - Eddie Roell; parents - Homer & Elvada (Vance) Tolbert; daughter - Carmen Crispino; three sisters - Betty Butcher, Dorothy Myers and Bonnie Anderson and a brother - Joe Tolbert. Obituary Preview: Mr. Thomas Alton Burgess, age 71 of Fancy Farm, Ky passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 6:00 AM at his residence. Born in Mayfield on November 10, 1952 to the late James Arthur and Mary Jo Burgess, he was one of thirteen children. Alton was a lifetime parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm, where he also worked as maintenance supervisor for over 30 years. In his past time, Alton enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, or the lottery. He was an excellent cook and an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Alton loved everyone, especially his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish the memory of Alton Burgess are his wife of 32 years, Nanette Burgess; five children, Tina Marie McKinney (Kevin) of Hickory, Jason Allen Burgess (Pamela Dance) of Collierville, TN; Jamie Edward Hayden (Kristin) of Fancy Farm, Candi Victoria Burgess of Mayfield, and Carrissa Marie Johnson (Ben) of Murray; eight siblings, Dennis Burgess of Fancy Farm, Paul Burgess of Fancy Farm, Betty Tynes (Daniel) of Farmington, Mary Lou Travis of Symsonia, Elaine Simmons of Mayfield, Christine Lamphere (Jim) of Paducah, Rosie Hayden (Raymond) of Fancy Farm, and James Burgess (Jelia) of Mayfield; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, with one on the way.  In addition to his parents, Alton was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Burgess, Mary Virginia Burgess, Leonard Burgess, and Mary Elizabeth Burgess.
A memorial mass for Thomas Alton Burgess will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the St. Jerome Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at the St. Jerome Cemetery. Father Darrell Venters will officiate the services.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 5 until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the service hour all at St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.

William Dewey Hobbs, aged 94, of Fancy Farm, Kentucky, was called to his eternal rest on April 23, 2024, at 4 am. He was born, on March 15, 1930, in Fancy Farm, Kentucky to the late James Everette and Ivie Gertrude Toon-Hobbs. He was revered for his enduring charity, diligent work ethic, gentle spirit, and perpetual optimism. W.D. never encountered an individual he did not consider a friend.
William Dewey Hobbs was the cherished husband of Mary Ruth Hobbs, with whom he shared a blessed union of 73 years. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in his wife, Mary Ruth Hobbs, and his children: Regina Ballard, Sue Klauburg, Randall Hobbs, and Keith Hobbs. He joins in Heaven his son, David Hobbs, and Grandson, Joshua Ballard, who preceded him in passing. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by an extended family, Grandchildren: Corey Ballard, Laurie Denton, Megan McIntosh, Jeff Hobbs, Jamie Daniel, Shaun Hobbs, Brooke Ewers and Chase Hobbs and sixteen great-grandchildren.
For over half a century, W.D. was the respected Owner and Operator of the Ashland Oil Bulk Plant, in Mayfield, Kentucky. In his retirement, he worked at Gibson’s Pharmacy in Mayfield, Kentucky. A faithful servant of God, W.D. dedicated his worship to St. Jerome Catholic Church. His earthly joys were found in family, he nurtured the land with care and dedication, embodying the values of hard work and resilience, he dedicated time to the Fancy Farm Picnic, active participation in the Knights of Columbus, the warmth of extended family gatherings, and would never turn down a hand of playing cards! The Hobbs family invites you to join them in commemorating the life of William Dewey Hobbs (W.D.) at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Fancy Farm, Kentucky 42039

Wanda Joyce Spraggs - March 16, 1938 - April 22, 2024

Obituary Preview: Wanda Joyce Nance Spraggs, age 86, passed away in Paducah, Kentucky on April 22, 2024. She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky March 16, 1938 to Dewey and Mattie Carter Nance. She grew up in Graves County with her two sisters, Sylvia Waddell and Essie Williams.
Wanda was a woman who modeled strength and resilience. Tragically orphaned at the young age of 7, she was no stranger to hardship. Despite the difficulties she faced, Wanda always brought joy and laughter to those around her. She attended Lowe’s High School where she was a Blue Devils Cheerleader, and she enjoyed reciting her favorite cheers even into her later years.
Wanda was known as a hard worker and dedicated many years of her life to her career as a seamstress. Additionally, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Wanda was well-known by friends and family for her love of singing and her incredible cooking. She enjoyed demonstrating her love through her cooking and found great joy in gathering with loved ones for a delicious meal and a game of spades or rook. Wanda had a bright spirit and an unmatched sense of humor that never failed to bring joy to those around her. She enjoyed spending time in nature, especially camping and boating at the lakes.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. “Dub” Spraggs, in August of 2009. She is survived by her children, Daryl (Tannie) Noffsinger, Charles “Tony” Jones, and Anita Jones West; grandchildren, Rachel Noffsinger (J.R.) Cantrell, Amanda Noffsinger, Andrew (Natalie) Orgeron, Colten (Jill) Jones, Cassandra Jones (Brandon) Byerly, Gillian Jones, Alec (Hailey) Curtsinger, Brian (Shawnda) Curtsinger, Thomas Curtsinger III, and Adam (Shayna) Curtsinger; and 21 great-grandchildren and other family members whom she dearly loved.

Those left to cherish the memory of Bobby Ray Wright are his wife, Sandra Wright of Hickory; two daughters, Jeanna Kendall (Melvin) of Paducah and Sabrina Wright (Eric Varner) of Hickory; two sisters, Anita Richardson and Kathy Ann Cook, both of Michigan;  three grandchildren, Erica Suiter of Mayfield, Trevor Kendall of Paducah, and Macy Kendall of Paducah; and two great-granddaughters, Zoey Suiter and Callie Goatley.

Born March 21, 1947 in Fancy Farm to the late George and Mary Ellegood Richard, he was one of twelve children. Mr. Richard proudly enlisted with the United States Army at the age of 19, only to be honorably discharged two years later. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar, and the Purple Heart. Mr. Richard loved his Lord, a member of Mt. Haven Baptist Church, and was dedicated to his family.
Those left to cherish the memory of Charles "Rudy" Richard are his partner of 15 years, Jackie Newsome; three children, Haley Richard (Khris Sherrill), Shelby Helton (Kenny), and Rachael Brooks (Tim); eight siblings, Donna Kaye Whitlock, Joseph Richard (Cathy), Lois Baumgardner (Steve), Mae Pierce (JB), Cecila Murphy, Ronnie Richard (Jeananne) Donnie Richard, and Gary Richard (Missy); six grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
