Dorothy Ruth Clark - September 15, 1933 - April 20, 2024

Obituary Preview: LAKEVIEW - Dorothy Ruth Clark, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2024. She was born September 15, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Emma Endres. She graduated from Pinckney High School in 1952 where she was a member of the girls basketball team and where she met the love of her life Robert L. ("Bob") Clark. They married on May 22, 1954, at Bethel Baptist Church in Hamburg Township and later raised three sons.
In 1973 Bob and Dorothy bought a farm in Cato Township and moved the family to Lakeview where they became active members of Lakeview Baptist Church and opened their farm to host many church activities for the youth and other groups.
From an early age Dorothy was a hard worker which carried on throughout her life. She worked on the farm, in the factory, waited tables, and later worked in the produce and garden center at Leppinks grocery store. She had a special talent and passion for growing flowers and other plants, vegetable gardening, canning, playing cards, and caring for the many animals on the farm. Her after-church Sunday dinners were enjoyed by many, and her kitchen table was always open to friend and neighbor.
In their later years, Bob and Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing in Canada, and winter months spent in Florida. Dorothy was also an avid deer and turkey hunter. Nothing excited her more than opening day of cross-bow and rifle seasons. She was a bright light to many and will be dearly missed.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Dan Clark (Liz Slater), Gary (Pat) Clark, and Jim (Tammy) Clark; grandchildren, Brandt (Adria) Clark, Brandi (Matt) Hubbard, Brece (Katie) Clark, Ryan (Mellissa) Clark, Alyssia (Lance) Blanzy, Tyler (Rachel) Collins, and Hannah (Jonathon) Whittum; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Dian) Endres, sister, Joan Silverthorn, sisters-in-law, Loretta Clark and Sally Endres, daughter-in-law, Bev Clark, and special hunting buddy Al Krause. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, and brother, Don Endres.

Daryl James Quisenberry - December 31, 1948 - April 19, 2024

Obituary Preview: Peacefully at home on Friday, April 19th, aged 75, Daryl Quisenberry of Six Lakes, MI. passed away.
Daryl was born on December 31st, 1948; the first of three sons born to the late James and Audrey Quisenberry. He was raised on a dairy farm in Six Lakes. Daryl graduated from Lakeview High School in 1967 having been elected student council president by his peers. During Vietnam, Daryl served his country in the army. In 1970 he returned home to work on the farm.
On August 22nd, 1981, Daryl married the love of his life Elizabeth (MacDonald). He worked as a dairy and crop farmer at Quisenberry Farms with his brother Gary and father until he retired. Gary, his best friend, remained in partnership with him until Daryl retired. Daryl and wife Beth lovingly raised their four children at the farm. When Daryl suffered a heart attack in 2007, he retired from farming and enjoyed working at the hardware store in Six Lakes.
Daryl loved farming, the outdoors, animals, and hunting. He was very devoted to soil conservation and traveled the US searching for the best agricultural practices. Daryl was an avid reader with interests in the old west, history, geography, and he had a great love for Alaska. He had an extensive collection of movies and greatly enjoyed time spent watching films.
Faith in God was important to Daryl from an early age and he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Daryl met his wife Beth at M-46 Tabernacle in Riverdale, MI. as she played bass with the worship team. He and his family attended M-46 Tabernacle for the following 43 years. Daryl loved and respected his church family and pastors, the late Brother Jack Skirvin, Pastor Dan Skirvin, and Pastor Bob Menzel.
Daryl is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (MacDonald) Quisenberry, his children: Sarah Quisenberry of Carson City, NV.; Magan Quisenberry of Six Lakes; Jacob (Bethany) Quisenberry of Six Lakes; Rebekah Quisenberry of Dubuque, IA. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Peyton Quisenberry, Quinn Quisenberry, and Raylan Quisenberry, two nephews, Zeke Quisenberry and Zeb Quisenberry, sister-in-law, Julie Quisenberry, and many cousins and family friends.
He is preceded in death by parents James and Audrey (Wright) Quisenberry, brothers, Gary (Julie) Quisenberry, and Gregg Quisenberry. Brother-in-law, David Hills and niece, Charity Bethke.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26th at M-46 Tabernacle Family Ministries 11098 E. Howard City-Edmore Road Riverdale, MI 48877.

Janice "Jan" Mary Wilson - February 28, 1957 - April 13, 2024

Obituary Preview: Janice (Jan) Mary Wilson, age 67, of Blanchard, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Corewell Health Butterworth Grand Rapids with her family by her side.
Jan was born on February 28, 1957, to Carl and Vickie (Valeriote) Wilson in Guelph, Ontario. She moved to Hubbard Lake, Michigan when she was 7 years old where she resided until college. Jan graduated from Grand Valley State University as a Registered Nurse. She then went on to share her passion for caregiving in Arizona, New York, and Pennsylvania, in addition to Michigan. Jan also shared her passion for helping others through providing comfort to the less fortunate by passing out care and food packages to those in need.
Jan enjoyed traveling, hiking, and taking her children and grandchildren on adventures. She also enjoyed fishing and going on picnics. After retiring as an RN, Jan dedicated her time to tending to and enjoying her grandchildren.
Jan joined her parents, Carl and Maria (Vickie), and her brother, Keith, in heaven. Left to cherish Jan’s memory are her children, Christopher (Danielle) of Lakeview, MI and Danielle (Marquis) of Phoenix, AZ; her six grandchildren, Josh, Mariah, Noah, Marquis, Addilyn, and Mariella; her siblings, Wayne (Shelly), Marianne (Rich), and Carl (Laura); and many nieces and nephews.
To honor her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will take place at a later time.

She was born in Pontiac on April 6, 1966, the daughter of Russell and Barbara (Motley) Dean. Micky was raised in Ludington before moving to Texas where she attended Rio Hondo High School, graduating with the Class of 1984. She was a mom and homemaker who enjoyed camping, traveling, going to the casino and gardening. Micky loved being her mom’s caregiver in recent years and helping her in the vegetable garden. She will be remembered for her love of family, the time they spent together and spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Micky will forever be missed by her son, Christopher Hutchinson of Mt. Pleasant; parents, Barbara and Larry Belland of Six Lakes; sisters, Janet Heady of Lakeview, Sandra Dean of Howard City, Amy (Gary) Hardison of Stanton, Cynthia (Joel) Palethorpe of Lakeview; brothers, Russell Dean of New Orleans, Louisiana, Eric (Kendra) Belland of Ridgeland, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Lakeview- Brian Clark Wheeler Jr., age 59, of Lakeview passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, April 1, 2024. He was born on October 20, 1964, in Greenville, Michigan. Brian is the son of Brian Clark Wheeler Sr. and Linda Ann Mckinley. Brian was raised in Greenville and attended Greenville public school as well as Rockford public school. During his early school years, he enjoyed boy scouts and being a leader for his classmates. Brian went on to join the Army National Guard briefly before moving on to construction, serving as a volunteer firefighter through the Village of Lakeview and later went on to truck driving, which he was very passionate about for many years. He finished his working career as a farmer for Crawford farms and nothing made him happier than spending his farming days on the back roads showing his children the ways of farming and teaching them how to drive. He enjoyed his leisure time with his children and grandchildren making memories and sharing laughs. Anyone who knew Brian knows he often enjoyed sitting in the sunshine listening to his favorite music while sipping on a cold one.
Brian is survived and will forever be missed by his four loving children, Jason Michael Wheeler of Coral, Mi, Amanda Kaye Wheeler of Greenville, Mi, Justin Clark Wheeler of Cedar Springs, Mi, and Brianna Jo Olds of WA State; 10 grand-children who he loved very much, Shelby (yankster) Rausch, Xander Gibbons, Brailynn Wheeler, Gavin Olds, Cortana Wheeler, Owen Wheeler, Natalie Wheeler, Abby Wheeler, Zoey Wheeler, and Chloe Wheeler; 3 siblings, Scott Wheeler of Grand Rapids, Mi, Michelle Sisson of Trufant, Mi, Tara Van Houten of Allendale, Mi.

Carol Boerma, a cherished resident of Lakeview, Michigan, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on December 1, 1951, Carol brought warmth, love, and light into the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Boerma, who passed away on June 26, 2009. Their enduring love and partnership were a source of inspiration to all who knew them, and their legacy of devotion lives on in the hearts of their family and friends.
She is survived by her loving son, Steve Boerma, and his wife, Tricia, along with grandson, Jacob Boerma and his wife Shion. She is also survived by her devoted daughter, Julie Coon, and grandchildren, Emily Baker, Nicholas Baker, and Tom Coon, along with great grandchildren, Andrew and Adalyn. Her grandchildren brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00am at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI with luncheon provided. Visitation is at 10am.
Though Carol may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved. Her love, laughter, and kindness will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cheryl was born on May 20, 1945, to her parents Chester and Arleen (Gordon) Patterson. She was raised in Lansing, Michigan, where she attended and graduated from Eastern High School. Cheryl then went on to further her education at Grand Rapids Community College, graduating with an associate degree in business. She became a city bus driver for Grand Rapids, where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 2016. On February 14, 1988, Cheryl married her husband, Micheal J Hennessy in Ada, Michigan. They were married for 34 years before his passing in 2021. She had many hobbies, such as baking, sewing, playing euchre, Yahtzee, and socializing with her friends and neighbors. She was a member of New Beginnings church and the ATU.
Cheryl will be greatly missed by her daughter, Michelle Turner; stepchildren, Kim McGuire, Kevin (Ashley) Hennessy, Dawn Tice and their families; granddaughter, Corinne VanStedum; and great-grandson, Hayden Woodward.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael; her parents, Chester and Arleen; and her son, Shane Smith.
A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at New Beginnings Church, with Pastor Aaron Hadley officiating. Interment has taken place in the City of Dewitt Cemetery.

He served honorably in the United States Army for 4 years after high school. Brad was employed as a group leader by Zeeland Lumber Operations in Grand Rapids. He was an avid reader and Detroit Lions fan who enjoyed spending time walking and bicycling along the Grand River.
Brad is survived by his two brothers, Kenneth (Judith) Taylor of Allegan, Michael (Diana) Taylor of Dallas, Texas; bonus sister, Toni L. Taylor; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Norma; and his grandparents.
According to Brad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be scheduled for later this year.

William Lawrence Hamm - November 15, 1956 - March 17, 2024

Obituary Preview: Lakeview- William L. Hamm, age 67, of Stanton, Michigan passed away March 17, 2024. William passed at home surrounded by those who loved him, under the care of Heartland Hospice. William was born November 15, 1956 in Howell, to parents William Hamm and Janet (Van Valkenburg) Wilton. He had many brothers and sisters. William lived several years in the Lapeer, Howell area before moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1981.
In 1993 William moved to Montcalm County where he touched the many lives that cared for him at the homes he resided in. William had a sparkle in his eyes that could melt the heart of anyone, and a personality that made it impossible not to love him. Every time you saw him, he would illicit a smile. He loved music, sitting outside, and people watching. William will be deeply missed by his caregivers and friends. He had a special way of touching people’s hearts.
A Celebration of William’s life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00pm at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan. An ice cream social will follow the service.

Obituary Preview: Margaret “Louise” Drain, age 86, of Lakeview, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in her home. Louise was born on May 25, 1937, the daughter of Gerald and Helen Thompson. She retired from Electrolux in 1999, where she worked for over 30 years. She enjoyed watching Detroit Tiger’s baseball on TV, and hardly ever missed watching a game. Louise loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports when they were younger. One of her favorite things was being out in the sun and working in her flower bed. Louise also loved animals, especially her two cats Magnum and Milton.
Louise will be missed by her two children, Daniel Drain and Lori (Brady) Paulson; grandchildren, Mac Paulson (Jaiden Meyer) and Chloe Paulson (Trevor Alexander); brother in law, Nick Nicholson; and many nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Richards, Ardeth Bennett, Vonda Rasmussen, Judy Taylor, and Chris Nicholson; brother, Jerry Thompson; brother in laws, Abe Richards, Lyle Bennett, and Gary Rasmussen; sister in law, Ruth Thompson; niece, Mary Kinnee; nephew, Bill Arnold; and great niece, Ashlee Sweetland.
Contributions in Louise’s honor can be made to the Montcalm County Animal Shelter.

Mary Ann Main - February 18, 1926 - March 13, 2024

Obituary Preview: Lakeview- Mary Ann Main, age 98, of Six Lakes, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Mary was born on February 18, 1926, to her parents, Andrew L. and Helga E. (Hansen) Peterson. She was raised in Trufant where she attended and graduated from Maple Valley Township schools in 1943. Mary then attended Davenport Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan to further her education. She worked for a year at Peck Drug Store, then returned to Lakeview to work for R.W. Petersen implement store for 6 years. She later went to work at the Farmers Elevator in Lakeview for 25 years before she retired in 2002. On August 30, 1947, Mary married Richard S. Main. Together they had 5 children and lived on their farm in Cato Township. Mary and Richard spent over 59 years together before Richard passed away in October of 2006. Mary accomplished many things in her life. She served on the Lakeview school board in the early 1970’s, the Kelsey Hospital Board from 1960 through 1970, and she served on the planning committee for Montcalm Community College. Mary worked at the Lakeview Library and was also a Lakeview school bus driver for 15 years. Mary was not only a member of the New Life United Methodist Church, but she also acted as their treasurer for over 20 years.
Mary will be greatly missed by her children, Jim (Val) Main of Mason, Jane Main of Lakeview, Marilyn (Mark) Jasonowicz of Torch Lake, Michigan, Paula (Kelly) Hall of Vandalia, Michigan, Paul (Joan) Main of Six Lakes; Grandchildren, Ted and Charles Main, Jacklyn Petlicki, Daniel and Joseph Main, Kevin and Kailyn Jasonowicz, Jill Zagar, Heather Rhodes and Jordan Hall, along with 13 great grandchildren; Sister, Nettie Jane Eskin of Armada, Michigan; Sister-in-law Eva Main of Lakeview, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard; Parents, Andrew and Helga Peterson; brother, Winston Peterson and sister Eloise Covell.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at New Life United Methodist Church at 2 PM with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. Family will greet friends starting at 1PM until the time of service. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that any contributions made in Mary’s honor to New Life United Methodist Church or the Lakeview Wellness Center.

She was born in Howard City on August 24, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Steinke) Miller. Donna was raised in the Howard City area where she attended school. When she married Ernest Mulholland, they settled in Lakeview. Donna was a homemaker and mother of three children who loved cooking, gardening and crafting. While Ernest fought Multiple Sclerosis, she was his caregiver. After Ernest passed away in 1976, Donna met and married Leo Darin and moved to Allendale. She was employed by Lakeview Community Schools in the cafeteria and as a library aide. She also worked as a grocery store food marketer in the Grand Rapids area. Donna was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lakeview and Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Grand Rapids.
Donna will forever be missed and is survived by her children, Linda (Mark) Stout of Shelby Township, MI; James (Dianne Ward) Mulholland of Shoreview, MN; and Julie Culver of Holland; step daughters, Marcia (James) Stubendorff of New Market, NH; and Patrica (Robert) VanderVeen of Wyoming, MI; grandchildren, Alicia, Barry, Michael, Mary and Jay; step grandchildren, Tracy, Todd, Aaron, Ryan, Shane and Jeremy; 7 great-grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Mulholland and Leo Darin; son-in-law, Barry Culver; great granddaughter, Ava; her parents, Joseph and Mary; as well as 8 siblings.
Memorial Funeral Mass will be 11AM, Saturday April 20, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lakeview. Donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

She was born in Grand Rapids on September 24, 1962, the daughter of Thurman and Alma (Murrel) Rowe. Connie was raised in Michigan and Kentucky, before settling into Montcalm County as an adult. She was employed as a cook in various area restaurants as well as by Sandy Land Farms for over 7 years prior to her retirement in 2012. Connie met the love of her life, Douglas Deitz on New Years Eve 1990. She had a passion for deer hunting, fishing, gardening, mushrooming, snowmobiling and anything outdoors. Connie was a great cook and was known for her amazing wildflower garden. She loved hanging out in her garden shed, being a mother and spending time with her family and friends.

Krista lived most of her life in Lakeview and was employed at a variety of jobs, most recently as a wonderful cook. She loved her family and making memories with them, especially her nieces and nephews. Krista was the ultimate “Cool Aunt” and showered them with magic and love. “Lala” was a long-time member of the Ladies of Rough Roads Motorcycle Club. Her club brothers and sisters meant the world to her, and they had years of good times together. Their love brought comfort to her in this last year. To know Krista was to love her. She was the spark in the room that brought everything to life. If you knew Krista, she was your friend.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Cynthia Dines (Larry Wagner); brothers, Kim Dines (Linda Pitsch), and Kirk Dines; sisters, Kerry Pull, Kelly Dines (Jason Spoelstra) and Kathryn Bell; her much loved nieces and nephews; and all of her club brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Dines.

Larry served honorably in the United States Army from 1958-1966. During that time, he spent time in Germany, Italy and France and attained the rank of Spec. 4. After moving back stateside, Larry ran the Boys Club of America in Columbia, SC, was the plant manager of Triad Packaging in Hickory, NC and later worked at the hospital in Carson City Michigan. Larry was then employed by the State of Michigan as a corrections officer at the Michigan Reformatory for over 25 years.
He loved playing golf, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, reading, dancing, watching any and all western shows or movies, playing pool, tennis, cards and board games. He was also a ping pong aficionado. What Larry loved best was getting to be with loved ones, family and friends, and having the best time.
Larry is survived by his brother Dan (& wife Yvonne) Brigham and daughter, Mary (& son-in-law Lance) Terry of Hickory, NC, three grandchildren, Larry “Trey” Brigham, III of Bluffton, SC, Joseph Daniel Brigham, and John Foster Terry, both of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He loved them all.
He was preceded in death by his his son Larry Basil Brigham, Jr. of Newton, NC; parents, George and Myrtle; and siblings, George, Bill, Jack, Juelous and Donna.

He loved his family, friends, a good pudding stone and being able to share his knowledge of outdoor activities with the next generations. Bert will be remembered as a proud, generous, hardworking man who was willing to help anyone in need.

He was born November 14, 1946, in Cadillac to George W. and Esther (Stevens) Riley. Through the years he was employed at Ranney Refrigeration, Electrolux and Hitachi Magnetics. He is survived by his son, Daniel M. Riley and daughter, Shelley Joslin (Jeff); grandson, Grant Joslin and granddaughter, Melanie Joslin. Dan spent the majority of his life living in Entrican, apart from his time serving in the United States Marine Corps. He loved being outdoors and spent his free time hunting and fishing. His days were filled with the companionship of neighbors, friends and family. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held in Lakeview at Brigham Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 3rd at 11am with Pastor Steve Hale officiating. A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery.

Anne loved being a mother, and her home was often full of her kid’s friends. She enjoyed attending church, knitting, reading, playing bingo and going to yard sales. Anne was an active member of the Lakeview Community Church, where she led small groups and hosted many events for “her ladies”. She will be remembered for her kind heart, listening ear and love of her family.

Obituary Preview: Lakeview-Genia Ellen (Taylor) McClinchey, age 88, of Lakeview passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was born in Gideon, Missouri, on December 11, 1934, to Granvel and Eteau (Berry) Taylor. Genia was raised near Poplar Bluff, MO and graduated from Fisk High School. After graduation she moved to Flint, MI where she was employed by AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors. During that time, she met William McClinchey, and they were married at the United Methodist Church in Flint on August 10, 1957. Together they have four children, Cecilia “Cindy”, William “Jim”, David and Michele. Genia enjoyed being a home maker and active volunteer at the children’s elementary school. She was a Girl Scout Leader for the same group for many years. Her troop loved year-round camping (both indoors and outdoors) especially at Fair Winds near Lapeer. They also went roller skating often and were able to travel to Bob-Lo Island amusement park via the ferry from Detroit. Genia started classes at C S Mott Community College in Flint and earned an associate in arts degree. At that time businesses were moving from downtown Flint to the malls, so she helped to bring new ones back into downtown. She volunteered at Center City Association (who partnered with the Flint DDA) and helped with the opening of AutoWorld, and the Water Street Pavilion, that is now part of U of M. Genia was offered a membership in Flint’s Business & Professional Women’s Club, which she readily accepted, and soon became vice-president. At this point William and Genia retired and moved to Lakeview. They built their home at Townline Lake where they had vacationed with their kids for many years. In retirement Genia and William enjoyed square dancing with the Tamarack Twirlers, puzzles, playing cards and time with family and friends at their home.
Genia leaves her husband, William of Lakeview; children, Cindy Barr of Orlando, FL, Jim McClinchey and Kelly of Flint, David McClinchey of Carleton, Michele (Chris Benedict) Tedhams of Flushing; 4 grandchildren, Michael Jr., Miranda, Mitchel and Mickael Tedhams; Kelly’s sons, Daniel (Ariele), Clyde and Joseph; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael III, Mariah, Madelyn; niece, Genia Renell Miller; nephew, Andy Miller; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Granvel and Eteau; son-in-law, Michael Tedhams Sr.; sister, June Miller; and nephew, Darnell Miller.

She was born in Imlay City, Michigan on May 24, 1925, the daughter of Fred and Theresa (Martin) Weir. Imelda was raised in Emmett and graduated from Memphis High School with the Class of 1942. She continued her education at Michigan State Normal Teaching College (Eastern Michigan University) and later earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Michigan. Imelda was employed by various school districts, including Ypsilanti, Memphis, New Haven and Utica, teaching business education for 33 years before her retirement in 1982. She married the love of her life, Donald Eugene Kring on August 5, 1950, in Emmett, Michigan. They spent over 65 years together before his passing in 2016 and were able to travel the world visiting 5 continents, all 50 states and every Canadian province. Imelda was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the MEA and the NEA. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doing daily crossword puzzles, playing cards and games. Imelda loved her family deeply and cherished spending time with them.
Imelda is survived by her children, Donald E. (Cynthia) Kring Jr. of Durango, CO, Mary (David) England of Lakeview, Bill (Jeri) Kring of Traverse City; grandchildren, Bill (Shannon) England, Kate (Jason) Blubaugh, Don (Erin) Kring III, Molly (Josh Juedes) Kring, Emily (Christopher) Obrist, Tyler (Ashley) Kring, Laura Kring, Sara Kring; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kring; parents, Fred and Theresa Weir; and a brother, Martin Weir.
Imelda’s family wishes to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Lakeview Terrace and Spectrum Hospice. They greatly appreciate the care, compassion and friendship that was extended to her, especially over the last year.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lakeview with Rev. James VanderLaan officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the Lakeview United Church of Christ, on the corner of Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview.

Marlene was raised in Greenville before the family moved to Trufant, where she attended Lakeview High School, graduating with the Class of 1952. On October 29, 1955, Marlene married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Boomer in Trufant. She then spent her time as a busy mother to four children and a farm wife. Marlene was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed putting on large meals for the farm hands during harvest season. She loved music, especially playing the piano, either by ear or with sheet music. Marlene played for many special events, church services and in her younger years at Danish dances. She was a long-time member of the Disciples of Christ.

She was employed as a secretary by Steelcase in Grand Rapids for 25 years and various area businesses after moving to Lakeview, retiring in 1992. Connie enjoyed baking, crocheting, sewing, reading, gardening, and playing cards and games. She was a member of the VFW Post 3071 Auxillary and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lakeview. Connie loved her family, sharing traditions and celebrating the holidays with them.
Connie is survived by her children, Nancy (Richard) Davis, Kathy (Maurice) Hotz, David (Terri) Lund, Richard (Jania) Lund all of Lakeview, grandchildren, Bryan, Jeffrey, and Christopher Davis, Amy Forman, Adam and Stephanie Hotz, Kendra Dickman, Mika Venema, Richard, Jason and Kyle Lund; and 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
