Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late Roy M. Sinyard and Jessie Mae Altman Sinyard.  Roy served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps and won awards as a sharpshooter.  He was a proud Marine!  He spent his life in the construction business and also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  Above all, Roy was a man who loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife:  Debra H. Obituary Preview: David S. Brannen, age 57, of 3264 Lower River Road, Montezuma, died Friday, April 1, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of late Major H. Brannen and Emily Smith Brannen.  David was a farm manager for Wilder Lands, Inc.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and if you ever had a conversation with him, you would probably think he was a philosopher, too.  He will be remembered by the quality deer and forest he helped establish and protect and the gorgeous landscapes of the Flint River swamp..  David was constantly learning and teaching.  He made sure people knew the need for conservation and deer herd management.  None of his knowledge was learned by accident.  He dedicated his entire life to conservation, the forest, animals and his family.  He loved his family as tall as the timber, as deep as the ocean and as big as the sky. Survivors include: Wife:  Margaret B. Obituary Preview: Marvin F. "Marty" Heath, Jr., age 64, of 656 Limestone Road, Cochran, died Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Medical Center-Atrium Health in Macon.
Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of the late Marvin F. Heath and Thelma English Heath.  Marty retired from Georgia Power after over 40 years of service.  He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed exploring dirt roads and fishing.  One of his greatest joys was attending football games with his daughters.  His brother, Terry Heath, preceded him in death. Obituary Preview: Christine E. Cross, age 96, of 2742 Third District Road, Unadilla, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Kingsford Place in Hawkinsville.
Christine was a life-long resident of Dooly County.  She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Edwards and Fannie Melithia Williams Edwards.  A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Christine loved cooking for her family and tending to her vegetable garden.  She was a member of Smyrna Independent Methodist Church.  One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her best friend, Boots Sparrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. V. "Bud" Cross and her grandson, Brian Paul Cross. Obituary Preview: Lena Rebekah Spradley Daniel, age 89, died on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Ridge Rest Assisted Living Center in Columbus, NC, with her family by her side.
Born in Pinehurst, Georgia on her family’s Lonesome Pine Farm, she was the daughter of the late Ossie T Spradley and Mary Kenneth Watson Spradley. She adored her late siblings: Leila Hayes Spradley Winters (husband Jack), J. W. Spradley (wife Marilyn), Ossie T. Spradley, Jr. (wife Frances), and Doc Watson Spradley.
Lena was the epitome of unconditional love. Doting on her family, friends, and pets was her purpose in life. Lena had a joyful zest for life and a ready smile. She accepted with grace the curves that life threw her. Lena was a good listener and loved to laugh. Whenever one of us returned home, whether from just an errand or out of state, she always wanted us to tell her all about our adventures as she rocked in her chair. Her family is still rocking in her chair as we cherish our memories such as her meals we ate as a family. Lena loved working in the yard, and she created award-winning flower arrangements for her garden clubs.
Lena was a loving and dedicated wife to her late husband of 59 years, Alfred Carlton Daniel. They raised their family in Huntsville, AL and Dalton, GA. Lena was extremely devoted and proud of her four children: Lisa Ann Daniel DellaGuardia (husband Ron) of Asheville, NC; Thomas Duke Daniel (wife Elaine) of Anderson, SC; Molly Rebekah Daniel Ponder (husband Brian) of Weaverville, NC; and Judd Edward Daniel of Tryon, NC. She is survived by eleven grandchildren (Anna, Dan, James; Matt, Blake, Haley, Maggie; Lena Kate, Jack; Alder, and Rowie) and nine great-grandchildren (Ansel; Eli, Lucy Hayes, Whitley Kate; Luke, Isaac, Asa; Ansley, and Allie James).
Lena’s family expresses a special thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Ridge Rest Assisted Living Center for the kindness, loving care and friendship given so freely to Lena.

James Benjamin “Ben” Reed, 70, died February 25, 2022.
A native of Dooly County, GA, he was a son of the late James Anderson and Mary Langston Reed.
Ben resided in Oconee County for many years and was an avid supporter of high school sports – a love of his growing up. Over the years he and his wife, Kay, helped provide meals for many of those sports teams. This passion for cooking and catering led to them founding “Kay’s Catering” five years ago, following Ben’s retirement from Life of Georgia Insurance Company.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM at Pinehurst City Cemetery, Pinehurst, GA.
Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Sammie Katherine “Kay” Hattaway Reed; five children, Jennifer (John) Simpson of Watkinsville, Kristin (Alan) Harrison of Bishop, Haley Reed of Watkinsville, Sam (Rachelle) Reed of Watkinsville and Kaycee (Mac) Manley of Greensboro; brother, Ronald (Edwina) Reed of Pinehurst; sister, Jan (Jeffrey) Preston of Unadilla; grandchildren, Emily, Ansley, Drake, Brax, Reed, Parker, Ellie Kay, Grant, Lawson, A.J., Layne and Madison.
Pallbearers will be Alan Harrison, Mac Manley, John Simpson, Mark Reed, Jim Reed and Lee Bush.

Her siblings, James B. Fretwell, Ida June Thompson and Louie Crawford Fretwell, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Allen Bishop (Christy) of Montezuma and Robert Allen Bishop (Carrie) of Perry; her sister, Mary L. Hart (Lamar) of Perry; her twin sister, Linda Heath of Perry; her brother, Bennie Fretwell (Gale}) of Acworth; her grandchildren, Madison Faye Bishop of Montezuma, Coleson Bishop of Unadilla, Kristen West (Brandon) of Perry, Stevie Ray (Chrissy) of Milledgeville and Matthew Ray of Perry; her great grandchildren, Raelynn West of Perry and Lane Asher West of Perry; several nieces and nephews; her faithful companion, Harley, her dog.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, December 28 at The Way Baptist Church in Perry with interment in Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.

Obituary Preview: Lloyd Harrison, age 74, of 700 Mulberry Street, Unadilla, died Monday, December 20, 2021, at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins.
Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of the late Otis Harrison and Virginia White Harrison.  He retired from Robins Air Force Base after 39 years of service and then served as a bus driver for the Dooly County Schools for 10 years.  Lloyd was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, the Charles Speight Sunday School Class, the Coffee Club and was a Mason.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Lloyd loved his family, especially his grandchildren and it was always important to him that he be there to support them as they played sports.  Another of his favorite activities was sitting on his porch talking with his family and his neighbors.  His family will also have fond memories of the many family vacations they enjoyed. Linton was born in Unadilla and was of nine children of the late John D. "Bud" Brannen and Lucy Ransom Brannen.  He served his country with honor in the United States Army and retired from Cemex.  He loved animals, tinkering and gardening but his greatest love was his family.  Linton was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Survivors include: Wife:  LaTrelle Gentry Brannen of Unadilla Daughters: Lorie White (Mark) of Hawkinsville Tracy Welch (Garry) of Pinehurst Grandchildren:  Joshua Sapp, Matthew Sapp and Logan Morgan (Will) Great Grandchildren:  Bailey Carter, Nash Carter and Kason Morgan
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Brannen, J. E. Brannen, Carolyn Carr, Paul Brannen, Lamar Brannen, Marvin Brannen and Kenneth Brannen.  His last sibling, Dora Huff passed away a few minutes after him.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, December 11 in Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Mark White officiating.  Interment will follow in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.
The family will greet friends 6- 8 pm Friday, December 10 at the funeral home.

William “Sonny” Rufus Hall, age 75, of Callahan, FL passed away on August 31, 2021. He was born on December 12, 1945 in Jacksonville, FL to James Rufus Hall and Annie Clyde Johnson Hall. Sonny started working at the age of 15.  Not only did he have a gift but was also the true definition of a craftsman carpenter and put his heart and soul in everything he built. Sonny built the home him and his wife, Barbara lived in.  Other accomplishments were serving in the Army National Guard and being a Mason.  A devoted family man and friend, Sonny would do anything for anyone. He had a big heart and was always quick to help someone in need. Sonny loved the Lord and enjoyed attending services at Live Oak Baptist Church where he was also a member.  He was truly the greatest person who loved his family, friends, and dog Baby Precious dearly. Sonny will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Annie Ruth Fountain; a special uncle, Charles “Gene” Johnson; a twin brother, James Eugene Hall.

Obituary Preview: Julius Asbury Wright Jr., a longtime resident of Unadilla, passed away on August 9, 2021, surrounded by family. As he was known to many in the area, Lil' Julius was born April 28, 1979, to Donna Cross Wright and the late Julius A. Wright.  Julius attended Hawkinsville High School before pursuing a sales career at Warner Robins Ford, where his outgoing personality and gift of gab ensured his success until answering our nation's call.
On April 20, 2004, Julius enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served military assignments both home and abroad. As a Staff Sergeant, Julius engaged in multiple hostile operations throughout the Middle East and earned numerous achievement and commendation medals for his efforts.
After the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, he returned home with his wife Laci and children Jaxson and Jordan. He managed the sales operations team at The Floor Store in Warner Robins and later became co-owner of Xtreme BioClean Solutions in Unadilla, Ga.
Julius's love for sports fueled his passion for golf, deer hunting, skateboarding, baseball, and Nasty Boys softball, which he enjoyed with his closest friends. Memories shared on the golf course, in the woods, or on a diamond will be forever cherished. Also, as a Georgia Tech football fan, he and his son Jaxson endured countless years of heartache yet remained staunch supporters of the Yellow Jackets.
His unwavering love for family, country, and friends will always be remembered.
