John and Erla loved to travel to Florida during the winter months, where he enjoyed being outside in the warm sunshine at their Cape Coral condo. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion #315, Eagles Irish Hills, and the Brooklyn Moose Lodge. Above all John loved his family and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pat was very proud of his family, leaving his legacy, of 45 years Pat Bates Construction, to his two sons, which he Founded. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, restoring old cars, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, 8 ball pool, poker and he had a secret passion for the slot machines.

He was a 40-year member of the American Legion Post #315 in Brooklyn, Michigan where he had served as a Commander. Jerry worked for Ford Motor Company’s Wayne Truck Plant retiring after 30 years. He was proud of his accomplishments and being a part of the building of the Ford Bronco. In his spare time he loved to golf, mow the lawn or do anything to be outside and go to the casino. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting Country Market daily so he could chat with his friends and “pick up a few items”. Above all he loved to spend time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Jerry will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years Miriam; his two sons Michael Clark, Dan (Cindy) Clark, and daughter Norma Jean Clark; two brothers Eddie and Ronnie Clark, a sister Edna Pennock; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. After many years of courting and chasing after Margaret Schade, they married on June 26, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant and even after marriage he always told how he continued to chase her... Milan served in the Michigan National Guard at the Alma Armory, in Alma. He attended Spring Arbor College, Owosso Bible College, and Huntington College until he became ordained as a Minister. During Milan’s ministry, he pastored three churches, Caledonia United Brethren Church from 1958 - 1960 and Eden United Brethren Church from 1960 - 1972. After moving to Brooklyn, Rev. Maybee and his wife founded The Heart O’ the Lakes United Brethren Church, where he spent 19 years from 1972 - 1991 ministering to the Irish Hills area and served two terms as Superintendent of The United Brethren Conference from 1991 - 1998. He drove bus for Mason, Eden and Columbia School district. Milan cherished his time with the Michigan Wood Carvers Association and is considered to be quite an artist. He was always known to be quick witted and have a snappy joke. Pastor Milan was a proud member of the staff at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, where he and Margaret continued to minister to those in need. He loved and cherished, his children and grandchildren. Pastor Milan will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Pastor Milan will be missed by his loving children Mark (Gail) Maybee, Paul (Kathy) Maybee, Mary (Craig) Durst, John Maybee; his beloved seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Bob served honorably in the Army during WWII. In the early 1970’s, while working on his graduate degree at University of Toledo, Bob got involved in the Leadership Training and Organizational Development Training offered by the Episcopal Church in Southern Michigan. Through these training programs, he learned the skills and insights needed to make his Master’s Degree learning applicable to the work he was doing with young people in the Presbyterian Church in Ohio. At a training event early in his involvement with the program, Bob met Joan Nutten, who later became his wife and partner in their own counseling practice. Joan was a licensed school social worker when they met. Both Bob and Joan went back to graduate school and earned Ph.D.’s in clinical psychology. Starting with troubled young children in public school classrooms, they went on to become exceptionally effective counselors, couples counseling in particular. Bob was also very active in the Communications Camp program at Columbia Central High School. When Joan died, Bob resolved to go on with the work he and Joan had made the center of their lives together. Dr. Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

After returning home, he took a job as a lab technician with Ford at the Rouge Steel Plant, and retired after 30 year of service. Nick was a member of the Local American Legion and a former member of the Irish Hills Fire Department. He was also a 62 year resident of the Wamplers Lake South Shore Community. Nick loved to hunt, snowmobile and travel. He was an avid sports fan, Detroit Lions being one of his favorites, along with NASCAR and watching U of M football games.

Nick will be missed by his nephews; Thomas (Sue) Kissel and Gery (Johanna) Kissel; and great nieces; Halley and Corinne. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Jr.

Elizabeth had a “firecracker” personality and enjoyed bowling, boating, going to casinos and being part of a euchre club. Above all her family meant the world to her and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
