On October 29, 1932, in Boone County Indiana, Hazel was born to Cecil and Opal (Corwin) Park. In 1938, the family moved to the Wheatfield area, and Hazel graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1950. She married the love of her life Eugene ‘Gene’ Helton in Rensselaer, Indiana, on July 18, 1952. Hazel was a housewife/beautician.
Hazel is survived by her children: Linda Helton, Rodney (Leanne) Helton, Lori (Brad) Wray, and Lisa (Tim) Witkowski, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband: Gene, infant son, infant twin daughters, and siblings: Betty Wilkerson, Marie Crownover-Helzer, and Dick Hagler.

Liz worked for Meijer as a greeter and other positions for 19 years retiring in 2019. She had a passion for sewing and loved being a seamstress. She made quilts for people who touched her life. She liked to bake and can. She loved to travel, and attend Newsboys concerts. She especially loved the holidays, and her family.

Lou’s hobbies were sports where he coached with his grandson, Brad at North Judson High School and watching all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play at their sports. He enjoyed yard work but especially riding around on his lawn mower with his great grandson, Lucas Tyler. Louis took pride in his many names, Louie, Lou, Trooper, Coach, but the one he loved most to answer to was Papa or Grandpa Louie.

Carl really like to repair old farm equipment, play the guitar, watch a variety of TV shows, and read. He especially enjoyed listening to country & western music, Johnny Cash was his favorite.
Carl is survived by his loving wife: Mary, a bunch of nieces & nephews, and even more cousins.

Raymond Saltsman Sr. - June 16, 1942 - September 05, 2021

Obituary Preview: Ray was born on June 16, 1942, in Medaryville, Indiana to Hallie Everett and Edna Mae (Brick) Saltsman. On May 19, 1962, he married Shirley Ann Shelton, the love of his life. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Ray worked hard through the years to provide for his family, being employed by Chet Coburn, Kiser Aluminum, Hicks Gas, Northway, Allis Chalmers, Monon Trailer and he retired in 2011 after many years of working at Talbert Trailers. He also served on the Medaryville Town Board. He deeply loved his family and cherished spending time with them. He also enjoyed building and remodeling, yardwork, feeding and watching birds & squirrels, hunting, fishing, camping, bonfires and cookies. Being a jack of all trades, he was the one that everyone in the family went to for help.  Ray loved teaching people how to care for things and others. He was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church in Francesville, IN.
Raymond is survived by his wife: Shirley, children: Ray (Pam) Saltsman Jr of Rensselaer, Gina (Tod) Masters of Medaryville, 3 granddaughters: (who were the apple of his eye) Holly (Darin) Owens, Leticia (Corey) Sutton and Sydney (DJ) Vogt, great-grandchildren: Levi & Caden Owens, Emmalynn, Elaina, Leonidas & Cyrus Sutton, Shawn Marsteller & Emmett Vogt. Brothers, Don (Jean) Saltsman, Tom Saltsman, sisters, Mary (Art) Coburn, Peggy (Bill) Coburn, former daughter in law: Gina Byroad and grandchildren: Jeri Chapman, Brandon (Elyse) Williams, Rylee (Travis) Rodriguez & Nathan (Breanne) Williams and 14 great-grandchildren: along with a host of Church family, friends, nieces and nephews and children that he treated as his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Brian Duane Saltsman, sisters: Doris June Saltsman, Helen Wrench, Evelyn Nelson, Ruthanne Terry, Mildred Bennett, Violet McCoy and Lucille Dunn, and one brother: Archie “Skip” Saltsman.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM EST at the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church in Francesville. The funeral will be Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10:30 AM EST also at the Church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Steve DeMoss and Evangelist Tod Masters. The burial will take place at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Medaryville.

Thomas Edgar Kearney - November 23, 1932 - September 04, 2021

Obituary Preview: Thomas Edgar Kearney, 88, of Wheatfield, Indiana, passed away at home on September 4, 2021 surrounded by his loved, and loving family, and surrounded in prayer by many nieces, nephews, and friends.  Tom was born in Denham, Indiana on November 23, 1932 to James and Frances (Finley) Kearney.  The youngest of seven children, Tom graduated from Walkerton High School in 1950, served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1955, and fought in the Korean War.
Tom married Barbara Ann Burke on April 26, 1958 and started a farming career that lasted more than four decades.  He is survived by Barb and their six children: Pat Kearney, Tim (Tina) Kearney, Steve Kearney, Bill (Cathy) Kearney, Bob (Yvonne) Kearney, and Peg McCain, along with dozens of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A faith-filled and honorable man, Tom was recognized and respected for his commitment to God, his family, his community, and his country.  He was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church for most of his life, a member of the Holy Name Society, and a 66-year member of the American Legion.  Tom held innumerable positions and leadership roles over the years; whether a little league coach, Parish Council member, a loyal fan in the stands, the Sergeant of Arms, the substitute gas delivery man, or a simply a good neighbor, Tom was dedicated to his tasks and teaching those around him along the way.  Anyone who knew him enjoyed his sense of humor, quick wit, wisdom, and selfless generosity; he was always ready to lend a hand, tell a good story, or listen to others share theirs.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings and their spouses— Trish and John Cowger, Jim and Peg Kearney, Viv and Clarence Duttlinger, Elaine and George Jachim, Urs (Sue) and Kenny Pratt, Dorie and Dick Cline.
His strength, integrity, character, humor, and lessons are legacies that will live on through his family and friends.
Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.  May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Tom was a Mr. Fix-it guy who if given a shoestring and a piece of tape could rig anything. He loved to fish, listen to country music and collect anything and everything. As they say “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” Tom had lots of treasures. He will be missed by all who knew him.
