Obituary Preview: Roberta Constance Kerste, age 73, of LaSalle Township passed away at 11:05 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. Born November 2, 1939, in Monroe, Michigan, Roberta was the daughter of the late Elmer and Cecelia (Kreger) Reinhardt. She grew up and raised her family in LaSalle Township and graduated from Monroe High School in 1958. In 1960 she met her husband and the love of her life, Kenneth Joseph Kerste, and from this union came the birth of four children.
For many years, Roberta worked at the Monroe Bank & Trust, but more than anything she was a homemaker. She cherished the time she spent with her family and later in life she absolutely adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed being around others and socializing, and she could always be found at 11 o'clock watching the "Price is Right".
To cherish her memory she leaves a loving family including her husband, Kenneth Kerste of LaSalle; three sons, Kevin Kerste of LaSalle, Brian Kerste of LaSalle, Dean (Linda) Kerste of Maybee; daughter, Karen (Jamie) Simmons of LaSalle; brother, David (Carole) Reinhardt of Samaria; five grandchildren, Christopher, Miki, Joseph, Tyler and Justin, and numerous extended family members. Friends and family may gather from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2012, at Bennett Funeral Service. Services will be Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church where she will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, Michigan
