What is the purpose of an obituary?

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, an obituary is written by a family member, close friend, or funeral home staff member. In some cases, a professional writer or journalist may be hired to write the obituary.

What information should be included in an obituary?

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many online obituary platforms and funeral homes allow you to upload photos to accompany the obituary. This can help personalize the tribute and make it more meaningful for those reading it.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

What are some tips for writing a great obituary?

To write a great obituary, focus on telling the person's story in a clear and concise manner. Use specific anecdotes and details to bring their personality and achievements to life. Avoid clichأ©s and generic phrases that don't add unique insight into their life.

How do I handle sensitive or private information in an obituary?
