Obituary Preview: James Harley Haller, 68 of Grafton passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born June 10, 1953 in Grafton, son of the late Harold and Mary Louise Ballard Haller, Jim is survived by his wife Tina Corwin Halsey Haller, they were married June 5, 2000, spending more than twenty - one years together.
Jim graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1971 and worked at Fourco Glass Company. He liked the outdoors, going hunting, fishing and especially taking long rides on his motorcycle. Jim never met a stranger he was a man with a big heart enjoyed life. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by them and all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a son Jeremy Haller (Melissa), three daughters Jamie Haller, Erica Halsey, and Andria Halsey, two sisters, Debbie Sigley (Paul), and Marlene Barrows (Wayne), all of Grafton, eight grandchildren Dante, Ryan, Anson, Matthew, Charlotte, Lily, Eli, and Aubrey.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Boylen and brother Gary Haller.

Obituary Preview: Tamela S. “Tammy” Dawson, 61 of Grafton passed away Saturday April 16, 2022 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. Tammy was born May 10, 1960 in Grafton, daughter of the late David and Marilyn Weaver Posey. Tammy is survived by her husband of 22 years, Charles Noble Dawson, they were married April 20, 1999.
Tammy was a graduate of Grafton High School, class of 1978. She enjoyed working as a waitress at Jerry’s Restaurant meeting new people and making lots of friends. She would relax while reading a good book or working a word puzzle, and doing her favorite crafts. Tammy greatest joy was her family and her grandchildren, she treasured the time she spent with each of them while making many memories with each of them. She will be greatly missed by each of them.
Tammy is survived by three children, Nicole Renea Posey, Jessalea Brooke Posey, Charlisa Elaine Dawson, eleven grandchildren, Cambre, Corey, Ariana, Cole Harley, Zach, Cade, Brooke, David Logan, Karlie Sue, and David Noble, one great grandchild, Arya, four nieces and nephew, Keisha, Anissa, Brandon, and Hayden, one sister, Tracy Cline, two brothers, David J. Posey and Paul Jason Posey.
In addition to her parents, Tammy was preceded in death by her son, Logan Noble Wade Dawson.

Judy was a pathologist tech for a medical center in Maryland. She loved to entertain her friends and family, to draw, paint, and go to the beach with her husband and watch the sunsets. She loved being with her family more than anything else she did.
She is survived by four children, Richard (Ann) Martin, Greensboro, MD, Tammy Rey (Dwight Harris), Glen Burnie, MD, Tracy (Brett) Kauffman, Cape Coral, FL, Roni Mosco (life partner, Craig), Baltimore, MD, four grandchildren, Isabella, Natasha, Parker and Payton, one great granddaughter, Nadia, five brothers and sisters, Sylvia (Phil) Gerkin, Strongsville, OH, Robert (Sue) Willis, South Carolina, Michael (Becky) Willis, Grafton, Janet (Charlie) Rosic, Grant Town,  John (Karen)Willis Grafton, several nieces, nephews, cousins, several close friends in Grafton and Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband Judy was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul B. (Skook) Willis, Don Willis, Kenneth Willis, James Ronald Willis, and one grandson Brandon Wayne Martin.

Charles "Ed" Edward Miller - February 21, 1947 - April 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: Charles Edward Miller, 75 of Grafton passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Grafton City Hospital. He was born February 21, 1947 in Grafton, son of the late Charles Alonzo and Norma Robinson Miller, Ed is survived by his wife of 26 years, the love of his life, (Ginger) Virginia Lee Austin Miller, they were married March 15, 1996. Also, survived by his pride and joy, CoCo Chanel.
He graduated from Grafton High School Class of 1966. Ed served in the United States Army achieving the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Metal, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, the Expert Badge Rifle and Pistol Bar and he kicked ass. He was a correctional officer for the Department of Corrections for many years. Ed was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3081. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and going camping. Ed attended the Full Gospel Worship Center. He was a man of the Lord and his faith is what he counted on through-out his life. He loved the time spent with his friends and family and will be greatly missed by each of them.
He is survived by six children, Samantha G. Taylor (T.C.) Marlene E. Jackson (Raymond), Charlene Williamson (Charles), Tabatha A. Miller, Kim Soccorsi, James Soccorsi, eleven grandchildren, four great grandsons, two brothers, Michael J. Miller, and Lon W. Miller, and mother-in-law, Patricia Moats.
In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ed Moats, two grandsons, Andrew Jefferson and Evan Costello.

George was an electrician for many years in Baltimore, Maryland. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed searching for and collecting old coins and knives. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by each of them.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his two step children Shirley Allan (James) and Richard Cole Garland, special friend Jennifer Springs, four grandchildren Stephanie Parrish, Jason Cole (Sara), Amanda Brown, and Shawn Cole, six great grandchildren, two brothers. Kenneth retired from Builders Service and Supply. He loved carpentry work and took great pride in his woodworking. He was always willing to build anything anyone requested and was a perfectionist. He loved spending time with family and taking care of his cats.  Kenneth never met a stranger and was always willing to share his stories with others. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Kenneth is survived by one sister, Mary E. Swisher of Thornton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Griffith Shuman, one son, Michael A. Shuman, three brothers, James Shuman, Herbert Shuman, Joseph Shuman, and one sister Janie Jones.

Patricia was a graduate of Grafton High School, and a homemaker. She worked with the Rowlesburg Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad. Patricia loved the challenge of playing games on the computer and playing drums. She had a smile that was contagious. Patricia enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking and sharing her time with her family and friends especially her good friend Joe May. She will be greatly missed by each of them and by her fur baby, Baby Girl.
Patricia is survived by two sons, Robert Trott, (Leslie), and Tim Trott, three daughters, Angie Weaver, Michelle Cunningham, and Leslie Bicknell, one sister, Janie Ives (John), fourteen grandchildren, Erika, Ashley, Amy, Little Bobby, Jordan, Ava, Emma, Damion, Josh, Mercedes, Jessica, Kasi, and Levi, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Judy was a homemaker and loved the time she shared with her husband and family while camping at Big Bear Campground. She always enjoyed being in the outdoors, going fishing and hunting with her husband and children. She made lots of memories with her children, grandchildren, and friends spending special time with each of them. She will be greatly missed by each of them.

Charles was a tool and die maker by trade. He was a founding member of the New Testament Fellowship Church. He enjoyed farming, being in the outdoors, going fishing and working on antique cars. Charles loved his family and treasured the memories he made with each of them.

Bobbie  Ann graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1964, she worked with her parents at Runner’s Florist. She loved flowers and enjoyed watching all the flowers blooming each spring. She enjoyed doing jig saw puzzles and working on her tablet. She loved playing words with friends especially with her niece Lynette.
Bobbie Ann is survived by one sister, Wilma “Billie” Bowman and husband Richard, Grafton, one nephew, Chris Bowman and wife Karen, Bridgeport, their children, great nephew Tyler, one great niece Nicole. Bob’s children, Lynette, Jason, Josh and Nick and their families, and many other nieces and nephews, one aunt Lessie Runner, Charleston, and many dear friends. Bobbie Ann was preceded in death by, one son, John William Murray, Jr., one daughter, Johna Ann Murray, twin brothers, Robert “Bob” and sister -in-law, Anita Arble Runner,
Graveside service was held at 10:00 AM, Thursday March 24, 2022, in the West Virginia National Cemetery, where she was laid to rest by her husband.

Fern liked people and loved being with her family. She considered her family her greatest blessing and will be greatly missed by each of them.

Jean is survived by two children, Kimberly Green (Otto), Glenn “Bub” Knotts (Ruth) both of Grafton, six grandchildren, Diana Nicoletta (Corey), Jason Knotts (Mya), Jennifer Green (Steven), Justin Knotts, Jeremy Knotts, Allison Weber (K.J). eleven great grandchildren, Thomas, Heath, Taylor, Walyn, Autumn, Destiny, Maryella, Andrew, Connor. Elizabeth loved her church and was always involved with activities within the Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and even the harp during many services at the church. Elizabeth enjoyed knitting, traveling, taking pictures and relaxing with a good book. Her family was her greatest blessing and loved the memories she made with each of them.
In addition to her husband Elizabeth is survived by one son Greg Rogers, a granddaughter, Corina Groves (Katelyn) Jane Lew and a sister Ruth Jaumont (Eugene) Clarksburg.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Margaret Jean Bender Robinson whom he married on December 20, 1971.
Raymond served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Huttonsville Correctional Facility as a cook with over twenty years of service.  He was a collector of many things. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, playing cards and family time.
In addition to his wife Raymond is survived by one son, David Robinson and fiancée, Jessica Putzulu, Tampa, FL; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean Beam, Harrisonburg, VA; one brother, David Franklin Robinson, Honolulu, HI; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by two sons Raymond Eugene Robinson Jr., "Bobby" Jay Robinson; two brothers, Donald Robinson and Ronald Jay Robinson.

Bubby worked at Grafton City Hospital for many years. He was a man that never met a stranger, he made friends where ever he went. He enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting antiques. He liked going to car shows and enjoyed deer hunting whether he got the trophy deer or not. He loved his family and gave each of his sisters a nickname that they carried through life and will always treasure. He considered his family his greatest blessing and he will be greatly missed by each of them.
Bubby is survived by two sons, Josh Swiger, Thomas B. Swiger, Philippi, one daughter, Amanda Marie Young, Grafton, four grandchildren, Destiny, TJ, Adam, and Austin. one brother, Randy Swiger (Tammy) Philippi; four sisters, Lona Jean Bailey, Mary Spring (Frank), Sandra McCumbers, all of Grafton and Debora Baker of Thornton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends he considered to be his family and daddy’s dog Jake.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her especially her children and grandchildren.

Kenny was an all-around good guy with a wity sense of humor and personality. He will be missed tremendously by all who loved him. He has left a huge hole in our hearts that will never be filled until we meet again.
Kenny is survived by Lindsey and Rene Yost, Grafton, his daughter Gina Grosse (Michael), sons; Kenneth III, Joseph,and Michael Gross,  grand daughter, Ava June Rose Grosse, all of PA.

He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, going on cruises and trips to the casino. Glenn liked people and enjoyed talking about old and new cars. He was a real family man, enjoying the time he spent with his family especially his grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Peter Tzavaras, her sisters, Cynthia Steenstra and husband, Carl, of Grafton, Marlene Kalo, of Grafton, and Laura Kalo Gow and husband David, of Chemainus, BC, Canada and New Orleans, LA.; her niece, Erica Steenstra Bunner and husband Curt, of Crestview Hills, KY, her nephew, Jeremy Steenstra and wife Aterra, of Morgantown, and her niece, Lauren Fellner, of Vail CO; a great nephew, Carlin Bunner, and great nieces, Audra and Aurora Steenstra.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Paula Rind, brother-in-law, Joel Rind, and niece, Zoey Ryan-Rind.
Sharon graduated from Grafton High School in 1980 and from WVU in 1984 with a BS in Business and Finance. At Grafton High Sharon was active in the Music and Theater Program, Keyettes, Grafton High’s Flag Corp, and various organizations.  At WVU she was a member of Flag Corp with the WVU Band and the Alpha Phi Fraternity and remained active with the group as an alumni throughout her life.  Sharon worked as an accountant and bookkeeper in several businesses.
An animal lover, Sharon cared for dogs and cats her entire life; she was a gardener and enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers.  Sharon liked travelling and trying new foods.
While growing up in Grafton she was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and has attended several different churches throughout the years.   In recent years she attended the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Morgantown with her husband.
Donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to any area animal shelter.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday March 1, 2022 at Woodsdale Cemetery at 2:00pm with the FR. Jon Emanuelson of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church officiating.

DeVault Shriver.  Bill is survived by his wonderful wife Emma Grace Cline Shriver, they were married December 31, 1956, spending more than sixty-five years together.
Bill graduated from Morgantown High School, was in the Army where he became a paratrooper. He worked at the post office as a carrier, clerk and retired as post master in 1996. After retiring he went to Votec school in Fairmont to learn the trade and received a degree for remodeling and construction. Bill liked the New York Yankees, coaching for the senior league and was a lifetime member of the Elks. Bill liked being out with people and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed gardening and gathering in the fruits of his labor. Bill loved being with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He treasured his family and considered them the joy of his life. Bill will be greatly missed by all of them.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by one daughter, Sonya Shaffer and husband Joe, Grafton, one son, William Bryce Shriver Jr., and wife Linda, Bridgeport, one grand daughter Stephanie Shaffer, Grafton, and one grandson Logan Bryce Shriver, Bridgeport, one niece Megan, two nephews Robert and David.

Reverend Oren "Ned" Neathery Reneau - June 08, 1921 - February 17, 2022

Obituary Preview: Reverend Oren Neathery ‘Ned’ Reneau passed away peacefully at the Bridgeport Health Care Center on February 17, 2022. He was 100 years old.
Rev. Reneau was born in Albany, KY on June 8, 1921 to Isaac Oren and Hadus Neathery Reneau. He attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, receiving degrees in Philosophy and Religion. He attended seminary at the College of the Bible in Lexington and was ordained in 1946. While in seminary, he met wife Florence when they were both working on the play Cuckoos on the Hearth. They married in 1946 and were together almost 70 years.
The Reneau family moved to Grafton in 1950 and he became Chaplain at the West Virginia Industrial School for Boys. Although they expected to only remain for a few years, they raised nine children in Grafton and he retired from the Industrial School in 1983. During his time there, Rev. Reneau touched the lives of thousands of WV boys. On occasion, he would bring them home for Sunday dinner and holidays; his family celebrated Easter and Mother’s Day at the School.
After retiring, Rev. Reneau served as an interim minister to numerous churches including the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Grafton. He also spent much of his time in his beloved woodshop, building toy boxes, rocking horses, and other toys for his grandchildren who called him ‘Gramps.’ He was active in the Taylor County Ministerial Association and served on the boards of the Taylor County Public Library, Camp Towles, and the WV Disciples of Christ.
Rev. Reneau was preceded in death by wife Florence, son Jim, foster son David Mays, and brother Fulton. He is survived by sister Betty of Albany, KY; eight children Carolyn (Steve) Shepler of Elkins, Susan (Ed) Westfall of Grafton, Dorothy (Rock) Garton of Jane Lew, Mary (Bob) Smith of Wheeling, Joyce (Leon) Okes of Parkersburg, Tom (Deneane) Reneau of Bridgeport, Bill (Pam) Reneau of Chesterfield, VA, and Paul (Julie) Reneau of Grafton; daughter-in-law Nancy Reneau of Grafton; foster daughter-in-law, Pat Mays of St Marys; 23 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
