Obituary Preview: Willard Franklin Sparks, 59, of Marysville, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Kobacker House, Columbus, following a brief illness.

Frank was born on October 3, 1962 in Mt. Vernon, OH to the late Willard and Betty Jo (McKenzie) Sparks.  He grew up in Sunbury where he had attended the Big Walnut High School.  Following high school, Frank went to work in the construction industry, where he learned all of the many facets of the business.  He also became licensed to operate semi’s and had worked in that field too.  He then went to work for Home Depot, where he had been employed for many years.  More recently, Frank had been working at the Honda plant in Marysville, where he was a Handwork Associate in the forming department.  Frank was good with his hands and enjoyed woodworking and also home renovations.  Frank was always helping others, especially his family and friends, and always enjoyed the time spent with them.

Surviving  are his children, Christopher Sparks of Florida, Shawn (Kate) Sparks of Johnstown and Amanda Carter of Columbus; partner, Andy Goff of Marysville; the mother of his children, Donna (Hensley) Sparks of Columbus; grandchildren, London, Zoe and James; sisters, Rita (Donald) Hinkle of Johnstown, Diane Arms and Angel Redinbaugh, both of Ashley; Step-mother, Neva Mae Sparks; step-brothers, Ford Allen (Laurie) Sparks and James Russell (Cathy) Sparks; step-sisters, Gwen (Tom) McKenzie and Jo Ann Thompson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Sparks and step-brother, Billy Ray Sparks.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm in the DeVore Snyder Funeral Home, 637 S.R. 61, Sunbury, OH 43074, with the Rev. Tom Dea’therage, Celebrant, officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 11th in Salyers Cemetery, Flatgap, Kentucky.
