Obituary Preview: Gerald “Jerry” Anter was 54 years old when he suddenly passed away on March 23rd, 2024. He is survived by his son Maxwell Anter, his mother Diane Giacabone (John), sisters Angela Vanmeter (Jimmy) and Andrea Anter, and nieces Lauren Sobat and Jenna Sobat. He was predeceased by his father Gerald N. Anter. Jerry was born in Akron, Ohio. He truly lived life to the fullest. In his youth he was a phenomenal baseball player, and continued to follow and enjoy sports throughout his lifetime. He was a man with a genuine talent for crafting, fixing, and repairing. There was not a project he couldn’t complete when he set his mind to it. Jerry was also a culinary wizard who was constantly able to woo and charm those who tasted his food. Every Sunday he would invite his family and friends over for a traditional-style meal as a way of staying connected with those close to him. He was not only a family man, but also a man of great dedication and work ethic - he was self-made. Often boasting about retiring at 40, he built up his legacy with his own two hands putting countless hours into his dream. Jerry was a devoted and charismatic man who always livened up a room when he entered it. He was loved and will be truly missed by all those that knew him, especially his family. Obituary Preview: Russell Lee Elliott born 11/09/1958 has joined the Lord on 03/18/2024 after a long courageous battle with COPD. Russell served in the Marine Corps stationed in Parris Island S.C. He was also a truck driver for Brinks and then worked for B&C in Barberton, OH. He enjoyed hanging out with his best friends Howard and Helen Fogg singing, dancing and laughing by the fire. He was very family oriented and enjoyed fishing. Russ will be dearly missed. A special thank you to Sylvia Riley, Phil Cloud and Reginald Ray for your friendship. Russ loved people especially children and left behind many nieces, nephews and extended family; Amber, Amanda, Angelica (sweetie girl), Tiffany, Robert, Dalton, Lawrence and Joey. Brother Scott(Jackie) Elliott and sister Beth Elliott ( Bill Bryant). He was proceeded in death by parents Bob and Mary Jo Elliott, sister Kimmy Jo Hardy and brother Mark Elliott.

Garnette L. Dorsey passed away March 16, 2024. She was born July 10, 1930 in Minnora, West Virginia. She was employed as an executive secretary at Evans Savings Association and for the dean of the history department at The University of Akron. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Akron since April 1957, where her children grew up in the Christian community and where she served on many committees and the administrative council. She volunteered at the Tuesday free lunch beginning in 1987. She supported the church and keystone Sunday school class in every way she could.
Garnette was preceded in death by her husband, James T.; son Stephen; parents Harley and Thelma Knotts; brothers Marshal, Edgar and Matthew Knotts; sisters Phyllis Hale and Dorothy Toth; son in law James Alverson; nephews Mark Knotts, Scott Dillon and Harold Lindsey who was a Vietnam cancer casualty; brothers in law Steve Toth, Jr, Harley Gunderson, and Robert J. Dillon; and sister in law Nancy Knotts.
Garnette is survived by her children Michael (Andrea) and Debra Dorsey Alverson: grandchildren Christopher, Sarah Wirt (Dennis), Jacquelyn Weber (Jacob), and Jenelle Alverson; great grandchildren Jeffrey Fowler Jr, Lila Wirt, Penelope and Maxwell Weber; sisters Mary Gunderson and Judith Dillon; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at visiting hours Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street), where funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM. All are invited to a meal immediately following at First United Methodist Church, 263 E Mill St., Akron, OH. Garnette will be laid to rest with her husband at Hillside Memorial Park.

Birkha Biswakarma was born in Chhokana Harpepani Bhutan in the year 04/27/1944.
He was the first son of Damber Singh and Kampa Maya Diyali. Raised in Chhokana by only one maternal Uncle Thuley Diyali after the sudden death of his mom Kampa Maya who passed away when Birkha was only 7 days old. And the age 18 years he went to Suntaley Chirang Bhutan. He was married to Phul Maya Kalikotay the daughter of Khadka Singh Kalikotay and Purni Maya Shankar. Five children Bal Bdr. Buddhiman, Sanman, Amber Singh and Santa Bir were born there in Chirang Bhutan. He was an animal Caretaker at Animal Husbandry Chirang. Along with five children both parents went to Duzegaun and finally settled and got retired at Daga Dzong. All children kept raising in the care of maternal grand-parents and their love. Only one daughter Sanmaya was born in Daga Dzong in the year 1990.
In the year 1992 along with Amber, Santa Bir and daughter San Maya went to Nepal due to agitation that took place in 1980. Stayed in Damak Jhapa-Eastern Nepal. Stayed in Beldangi 1-Sector B1 Hut Number 105 for 16 years. But Second son Buddhiman and Sanman stayed back in Daga Dzong Bhutan. Third Country settlement gave an opportunity to settle in USA. Along with son Santa Bir and daughter San Maya left Nepal in Dec 8th, 2008 getting migrated by IOM. Landed in Newport News on Dec 11th. 2008. All the family of Bal Bdr and Amber Singh followed them few months later. He received Christ and got baptized by Pastor Samuel Khawas and Pastor John Tamang in 2009 and got planted in Newport News Christian Fellowship. He had 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
After 8 years of stay at Newport News moved to Akron Ohio. In 2014 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was struggling with it. As the time continued his health state start getting worse. Besides, He had High BP, Diabetes and high cholesterol. On January 2nd he got admitted to hospice care but kept at home.
He got admitted as bed patient from February 24th 2024. He got senseless thereafter and left all of us on Thursday February 29th, 2024 at 8:45am.
He was very joyful, thoughtful and full of humor. His advice, counseling, and his soft words will be remembered and will stay in our hearts as birth mark forever.
Bau(Dad).! you have fought a good fight. We will be following you n your footsteps.
See you in Heaven dear Bau. We miss you Your children

Ernest was a beautiful, lovable soul always willing to lend a helping hand and support those in need. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to being a loving husband and father, Ernest was also a skilled mechanic and car enthusiast. His knowledge and expertise in classic cars were unmatched, and he was always willing to share his passion with others.
Ernest is proceeded in death by his parents, Lou James and Argustavia Travis, Willie James Travis, Bettijean Harris, David Travis, Isabella, Travis, Johnny Ray Travis, Dorothy Travis, and Geraldine Travis, Ernest Travis Jr.
Ernest leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves Behind his wife , Reneea Roper Travis; kids, Tyreece Williams, Nakia Shadie,Teisha Travis, Tia-Ping Ruple, Shyrisa Caffey, Rachelle Roper, Maundrio Roper, and Michael Roper; living siblings Gloria Beasley, Linda Saunders, Yvonne Tyson, Cynthia Travis, Barbara Watts, and James Boyer.
Rest in peace, Ernest Travis. You will be remembered fondly and dearly missed.

Obituary Preview: Carrie Catherine Cole, 80, went home to be with the Lord February 1, 2024 after a battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1943 in Cumberland, Maryland, the daughter of the late James and Carrie Johnson. Carrie was a member of Lakeview Lighthouse Church. Her husband Bud referred to her as “The best woman in the world.” She will always be remembered as woman who was devoted to her faith, her family, and her dogs. Carrie was filled with love, life, and laughter. In her free time, she enjoyed crafts, bingo, online video games and cooking for her family. She also had an ornery and sassy side to her as she disliked interruptions. Carrie and Bud lived in Florida for 15 years, but she wanted to be closer to family and they moved back to Ohio. In addition to her parents, Carrie is preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Kurtz on July 14, 2017; sisters Barbara Mozer on December 12, 2010, and Phyllis Watson on October 21, 2013; and her brother James Johnson at a young age. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Harold C. “Bud” Cole Sr.; sons Richard (Stephanie) Shackleford, and Roy (Lynn) Brumley; step-children Georgette Brown, Bud (Jackie) Cole Jr., Ida (Jeff) Westfall, Scott (Cathy) Cole, Joe (Tracy) Cole, Victor Cole, and Violet (Dan) Mayhle; son-in-law Larry Kurtz; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her dogs Wrigley and Trixie. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Lakeview Lighthouse Church (1065 Kubler Trail), where funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Dwayne Ray will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
