Sandy Sloan Thomas - January 12, 1970 - September 21, 2023

Departed: 09/21/2023 (Bristol)
Obituary Preview: Sandy Sloan Thomas, born January 12 of 1970 - September 21 of 2023.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a mom to many, friend to everyone, and the
sweetest child of God, Sandy Thomas - aged 53, on Thursday September 21 of 2023, in Bristol, TN. Sandy was born on January 12 of 1970 in Bristol, TN to her parents John and Shirl Sloan. Sandy was a proud Sullivan East High School graduate, where she frequently spent her time as an adult being a “band mom” to many children during 2009-2015.
Sandy had a heart for serving. She served her community by being a fire fighter at East Sullivan Volunteer Fire Department, with her spouse and friends, for more than 15 years. She also frequently served a local soup kitchen during her time as a property manager. But, many would argue that her greatest service was being a mom to so many children on this earth. Her home was open and welcome to all, and we will never truly see the impact she made throughout her life. Outside of her title “mom”, Sandy enjoyed spending time with her best friend and spouse, Rich Thomas. For more than 30 years, the two love birds have enjoyed adventuring into the mountains, relaxing on the beach, cheering for the Volunteers, kayaking the rivers, or gardening in the evening.
Sandy Sloan Thomas is survived by Rich Thomas (spouse), David Thomas (son) and wife Julia Phillips, Sydney Lambert (daughter) and husband John Lambert, Michael Sloan (brother), Shirl Sloan (mother), and a host of loving friends and family. We praise God that Sandy has now been reunited in heaven, with one of her best friends and late father, John Sloan.
Please join Sandy Sloan Thomas’ family to celebrate her life at a graveside service, held at Weaver Cemetery on Peoples Road in Bristol, TN on Saturday, September 23rd at 1 PM.
