Pamela "Pam" Jean Blalock - January 17, 1953 - April 24, 2022

Departed: 04/24/2022 (Oklahoma City)
Obituary Preview: Pamela “Pam” Jean (Seay) Blalock, lifelong Seminole County resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the age of 69.
Pam was born January 17, 1953 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Clyde Elmer and Edith Irene (Harper) Seay. She was raised in Seminole County and graduated from Varnum High School in 1971. Pam was a loving homemaker and worked at Wrangler for several years until her department closed. She loved shopping especially at Dillard’s where she would spend hours finding all the best deals. If someone needed something particular, she would be able to find it and you could count on her having gotten a great deal on it! Her collection of clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry were quite extensive. Her home and person were always the latest styles. Working outside was a great passion of Pam’s. She recently had her daughter Katie pick up some new big pots and had decided what to plant them in and where to place them. She would love to just sit on the ground and pick weeds for hours. One year, they accidently grew watermelons and treated each new melon like a baby. She would get so excited seeing them grow and finding new baby melons. After that first year, they would grow watermelons and okra. Pam also loved to get on her riding mower. She said it was like therapy for her. Even after cutting part of her finger off on the mower blade, she still would get back on when she was able. Her fur baby Jasper was the light of her light. After he passed away, her grand fur babies helped fill that hole left from Jasper.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kerry Robertson and husband Shane of Seminole and Katie Therrien and husband Carl of the home; one brother, Ronald Seay of Seminole; two grandsons, Jacob Blalock and wife Amanda of Shawnee and Gage Robertson and wife Hope of Ada; great-grandchildren, Raylee and Weston Blalock and Taylor Ringle; nephew Kevin Lyle and wife Christine of Gaithersburg, Maryland; niece Brittany Hamilton and husband Brian of Chico, California; several cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Pam is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Clyde “Speck” Seay; mother, Edith “Irene” Dunn and her husband Marvin and a sister, Sherry Chambless..
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Little Cemetery Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
A viewing will be held on Thursday prior to the service at Little Cemetery Chapel from 11:30 AM - 1:30 pm.
Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Therrien, Katie Therrien, Jacob Blalock, Gage Robertson, Tim Porter and Brent Jones.

Gene Oliver Staten - August 21, 1934 - March 16, 2022

Departed: 03/16/2022 (Oklahoma City)
Obituary Preview: Gene O. Staten was born to Erma Berniece (Wilson) Staten [deceased] & Shady Heath Staten [deceased] at home in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 21,1934 and passed away at the age of 87 on March 16, 2022, in Oklahoma City. He had three brothers- George & wife Hettie, James [deceased] & wife Alice, and Kenneth & wife Nancy. He married Fran Robertson in 1957 and they had two children Kimberly Gene Cook & husband Steve and Kenneth Allen Staten & wife Jean. His son Damon from his second marriage to Mary died as an infant. He married Deborah Anne Morris on March 21, 1985. From their 37 years of marriage were born two children; Rebekah Anne Staten and Caleb Andrew Staten. He had three grandsons-Michael Neal Cook, Shady Garland Cook, Christopher Jordan Staten, and one granddaughter Ruby Makenzee Staten.
Gene lived a life full of adventures. He spent his early years with his brothers taunting the buffalo in the local park, riding the oil pumps in his neighborhood, swimming in the flooded Washita River and anything to be ornery. They would just take off on their bicycles and ride on the dirt roads from OKC to Shawnee to visit family there. His idea of going to high school was taking the muffler off his motorcycle and riding the halls making everyone think the boilers blew up. One day when he was a Junior in high school, he and a friend decided to skip class to get a haircut, but instead ended up hitching all the way to a ranch outside of Alamogordo, New Mexico to become real cowboys. He became a sheetmetal worker when he returned to OKC. He served in the U.S. Navy on a wooden hull mine sweep before returning to his trade in OKC for a few years. He then attended Baptist Bible College in Missouri for four years. When not studying he would spend nights out frogging in the ponds and take a break from his dry wall work to eat his lunch of a half-gallon ice cream by the river. He once again came home to OKC and his trade where he was stopped by the police for speeding on his bicycle going to work. Whether riding his bike or motorcycles or driving his cars or streetrods-nobody could slow him down.  He loved to roller skate, ice skate, snow ski, fly planes, sky dive, SCUBA dive, spear fish, square dance (at one time was a caller), ballroom dance, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, sing bluegrass music, build old cars, ride motorcycles, and spend time in his 3000 sq ft garage. At age 50 he asked Jesus Christ to become his Lord and Savior. He would tell everyone he saw how ready he was to go to heaven. He loved his many friends, family, and his church family at Southwest Baptist Church. He lived a good full life and will be missed by all who knew him.

David Spence Eldridge - September 14, 1936 - March 08, 2022

Departed: 03/08/2022 (Oklahoma City)
Obituary Preview: David Spence Eldridge was born on September 14, 1936, the firstborn son of three, to Clarence Eldridge and Estelle Spence Eldridge. His sweet chariot came for him and carried him home on March 8, 2022. The first five years of David’s life, the country was in a depression and the next years, the country was in World War II. He recalled memories from both often. When David was about 7 years old, he contracted Polio and was admitted to the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. His recovery was so remarkable, he survived with no disability, and he was featured in a story in the Daily Oklahoman. David graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1954 and attended Harding College, in Searcy Arkansas. He loved to give the account that as he was preparing to leave for college, he took his little brother, Kent, to his first day of kindergarten. Prior to his junior year at Harding, he returned to Oklahoma City for the summer and attended a church service at the Church of Christ. As he reported, he went to the Bible study class and sat next to the prettiest girl in the class, Patricia Poe. After class, he invited Patricia to Orange Julius for a refreshing drink and then informed her that he would pick her up the following Saturday to go to a movie. He intentionally did not give her his number so she could not break the date. When he returned to Harding in the fall, it just happened that Patricia had also enrolled in Harding College. David was a tremendous athlete and loved biking, skiing, and tennis. He played competitive tennis both in high school and college. David and Pat married while they were both in college, and of their union three children were born, Mike, Gregory, and Robin.
David graduated from Harding College. He taught English 1 year in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He briefly attended University of Oklahoma in a graduate English program, and then enrolled in law school at Oklahoma City University. According to David, he attributed his scholastic success to getting to know his professors. He recounted one occasion that he informed his professor that he was going to make an A in his class and that he would need his help to do so. After flunking the midterm exam in astonishing fashion, his professor said that he had did his part and asked David what he would do. David responded that he would have to write “one … of a final,” He did. After graduating from Oklahoma City University Law School, second in his class, he began a stellar legal career. He was an expert in banking law, bankruptcy law, and commercial law. David’s advocation allowed him to take on legal controversies throughout the United States. After law school, David was a businessperson who led a public company, developed housing, and commercial properties. By his own account “he made millions and lost millions.   He and a partner formed an auction business that took him around the globe. To his regret, David’s great legal successes, all too often took him away from the very ones that he was working for, Patricia, Mike, Gregory, and Robin. After David and Patricia divorced, they remained loyal friends. David then married Mary Kay and were together for 20 years. They divorced in 2013 and remained friends.
David loved history, literature, show tunes, classical music, and litigation. David had a working knowledge of Shakespeare, My Fair Lady, the Civil War, both World Wars, Winston Churchill, and the Bible. David was a voracious reader, and it was not uncommon for David to read three books week. He loved fiction, non-fiction, history, philosophy, and poetry. David’s career was interrupted by a head injury suffered while biking. However, during the last two years of his life, and though it was clear that his health was failing, he litigated dozens of cases. As a result, David established a foundation, Go, Set A Watchman, in order to fund “the little guy” when they battled a Goliath. His love of the law resulted in his brother, Kent, his son Greg, and his nephew, Jackson following him in the practice of law.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Estelle, and his brother Mike Eldridge (Sue). He leaves behind him his son Mike (Laura) of Tulsa, son Gregory (Melissa) of Oklahoma City, one daughter Robin Bell of Oklahoma City, and her son Nicholas Bell (Ashley) of Houston, one brother Clarence Kent Eldridge (Guinise) of Forest Park, Oklahoma. Also, grandchildren, Ashley, Allison, Zach, Sean, Christopher, Isabel and one great-granddaughter, Josephina and nieces and nephews.
The family thanks Good Shephard Hospice and Bellevue Health& Rehab for their care of David. The family also thanks, Greg, Melissa, Sean, Robin Kent and Guinise who provided loving care during hospice.

His love for his sisters, Daijah and Nakitta, will be irreplaceable. Terrynce was a man of a few words but always had a pretty smile with deep hard dimples (thanks to his grandmother Delores Turner). Terrynce will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He left this world but not the people who love him the most. Terrynce is now an angel to his parents, Willie Carter of Mississippi and Rachael Hooks of Oklahoma City. He is watching over his sisters, Nakitta Powell and Daijah Carter both of Oklahoma City. Terrynce is smiling down with his deep dimples on his godmother, Fayatte Johnson and his aunt Naomi. Terrynce has been reunited with his maternal grandparents William Powell and Delores Turner, paternal grandparents Mamie Huddleston and Willie Anderson, Aunt Ladonna Powell, and his big brother Arlando Powell with whom he shared a birthday
Terrynce Jermane Carter knew and accepted the Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Rest with the saints of the Lord in Heaven.

Obituary Preview: Richard D Garcia “Ricky D” of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born April 25, 1958, in New Orleans Louisiana, and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Richard loved spending time with daughters and his grandchildren. Nothing gave him more joy than his family. He even had his 62nd birthday at Chuck E. Cheese so his grandkids could have fun too! He was always taking his family out to eat, theme parks or to the park for the grandkids to play. He was a fun-loving man who loved to laugh and joke around. His laugh was contagious! He was a lover of sports, especially baseball which he played for many years of his life. Baseball was a big part of his life, and he loved the game. He also loved the people he played with. His coach and teammates were not just teammates and friends but were family to him. He also loved football! You don’t have to know Ricky D. very long to know he is an LSU fanatic. Talk of LSU most likely would have been in every conversation you had with him. He was a proud Cajun born and raised in Alexandria, LA. He loved zydeco music and loved all kinds of Cajun cuisine. He was known for making a mean pot of gumbo and he loved making it for his co-workers at U-Haul. He worked at U-Haul for 25 years which showed he was a hard & dedicated worker. He was surrounded by great friends who became family to him; Loretta, Tonya, Andrew, Sergio & Tiana to name a few. If he was not with his family or playing baseball, he loved being with his friends at his apartment complex, playing catch with the kids, swimming in the pool and barbecuing. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will continue to live on through his daughters, grandchildren and everyone else he impacted in his life. He is now in Heaven with Jesus and so many who have gone before him, in a new glorified body. We love you so much we will see you again!!!

James Lee Boyd - June 30, 1952 - February 25, 2022

Departed: 02/25/2022 (Oklahoma City)
Obituary Preview: Born June 30, 1952, in Lexington, NE to James Eugene Boyd and Wilma Vernell (Shuler) Boyd. He is survived by his wife Mary Boyd, of Pauls Valley, OK, son Jesse Boyd and Sierra Littrell of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter Jennifer & Jason Lauritzen of San Jose, CA, Sister Carolyn Jean Boyd of Casper, WY, Brother and sister in-law John and Carrie Boyd of Stilwell, KS, Brother and sister in-law Larry & Ruth Hoskins of Delta, CO, and Brother and sister in-law Bill & Sherry Redden of Gunnison, CO plus nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and great nephews.
Jim and Mary met in Golden, CO and were married November 23, 1997. They celebrated 25 years of marriage, before his passing. He was a caring husband and father to his son Jesse and stepdaughter Jennifer. They always came first in his life. Although he did not attend church, he was a man who strongly believed in God and practiced this every day by what he said and did. He was always available to give a helping hand. During high school, Jim played baseball, football, belonged to the FFA and 4-H club showing. Jim graduated in 1970 from Lexington High School, Lexington NE. He spent his life on the family farm outside of Lexington, NE. which is where he learned his hard work ethic. Along with going to school and playing sports, Jim worked part time at Deeter’s Welding and Machine shop after school and summers, both during high school and college.
After high school Jim attended Hasting Tech Community College then attended Mid-Plains Vocational College in North Platte, NE and graduated in 1972 with a AAS degree in Machine Shop Technology and Welding. After graduation, Jim worked at TRW in Ogallala, The Sugar Factory in Gering, NE and Bare Manufacturing in Mitchell, NE. In 1978 Jim moved to Colorado where he went to work at the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapon Plant as a machinist and departmental manager (1981-1989). He then went to work for the National Institute of Technology, (NIST) in Boulder, CO. During his career he held many different supervision positions. In 1997 Jim went back to school receiving his BA and MS in Organizational Management. This was a huge accomplishment that we were all very proud of. After 25 years of service with NIST Jim retired, due to health issues after being diagnosed with chronic Beryllium disease, which he incurred while working for Rocky Flats. He was never one to sit idle, so he worked in his shop, at home, welding/machining different projects for others and also to maintain their horse property.
In February 2018, Jim had a double lung transplant. With suggestions from Doctors, Jim and Mary moved to Oklahoma where the weather and altitude were more suitable for his health. Unfortunately, Jim ran into many different complications after the transplant including stage 4 kidney failure. He was able to overcome these obstacles’ and did not let things stop him from enjoying life. Jim was required to have nurses 7 days a week but that did not slow him down. When COVID hit, Jim stayed in the house 24/7. He only went out to get blood draws and see Drs. We avoided this for over a year but, in the end, Jim caught COVID. He was unable to fight it off with his immune compromised body. Jim passed away peacefully February 25, 2022.
In his younger years Jim loved the outdoors, motorcycle riding, skiing with Jesse and Mary, and Mary got him involved in her passion with riding horses. With this he participated in a little mounted shooting and reining. Also, he enjoyed going riding with family members up in the mountains.

Departed: 02/13/2022 (Oklahoma City)
Obituary Preview: Gary Wayne Haley left his earthly body to walk with our beloved Jesus Christ on February 13, 2022 at the age of 70. He was born on October 22, 1951 in Oklahoma City, OK to Martha Bell (Wooten) and JW Haley, who loved and spoiled him rotten.
He was preceded in death by his father JW Haley; mother Martha Belle Rankin (Wooten); step-father Homer Rankin; his beloved wife Sherry Diana Haley and his youngest son Kevin Haley.
Gary is survived by daughter Kimberly Bassett Haley (Brig Gen Chad) Raduege of Oklahoma City, OK; son Chris Haley of Melbourne, FL; step-son Bryon Davis of Oklahoma City, OK; sister Ramona (Dan) Snow of Kingston, OK. Also survived by grandchildren: Michael (Lisa) Bassett of Hann-Munden, Germany; Zachary Raduege (“Mr. President”) of Woodbridge, VA; Eva Haley of Melbourne, FL; Ashlynn, Cason and Jaren Haley of Sheridan, WY; nephew Jason (Heather) Snow of Sparta, MO; niece Kelly (James) McCampbell of McLoud, OK; 2 great nephews, 2 great nieces.
Gary and his sister, Ramona, attended Crooked Oak School from K-12 where he was in the band and played football before graduating in 1969. He grew up as a member of Victory Baptist Church where he was baptized at the age of 10. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1971 and was stationed at Camp Legeune, North Carolina as a Field Radio Operator during the Vietnam War.
After his Marine Corps service, he returned to Oklahoma where he had his first child, Kimberly in 1974 followed by Chris (1979) and Kevin (1980).  He met the love of his life, Sherry Diana (Golden), and they were married for almost 29 years until her tragic passing in 2012.
Early in his career he owned and operated, ‘A Better Fence Company’, out of Lawton, OK until he found his place as a Maintenance Electrician at Tinker Air Force Base in 1985. He also proudly worked at Allen-Bradley and Ma-Cor Inc., but was forced to medically retire in 1990.
Gary loved spending time with his family, especially camping and fishing (when he could catch something)!  He enjoyed several hobbies -- playing guitar and singing, which he was very good at (and proudly passed that talent on to his grandson, Michael). He also loved carving, painting and creating leatherworks that he enjoyed giving as gifts to friends and family. He absolutely loved going to the gym and “getting a good sweat on” at least once a day, sometimes twice, and it became a nice social outlet where he made several great friends. He also found great joy in being stubborn and giving everyone he knew a good hassle! But above all, what he loved most in his latter years, was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was very proud of his 60-year membership at Victory Baptist church, where he had served as an Elder. Although driving long distances became an issue towards the end of his life, Victory was and will always be where his heart resides…as well as with each person who loved and cherished him. He is now at peace but will be forever loved and missed.
