Theresa A. Campone - March 11, 1926 - March 04, 2024

Departed: 03/04/2024 (Yonkers)
Obituary Preview: Theresa A. Campone, a resident of the Bronx, NY passed away on March 4, 2024 at the age of 97, just shy of her 98th birthday with her best friend and other half, Denise by her side.
She was was born on March 11, 1926 to the late Adrianna Morisello and Tomas Campone in the Bronx, NY. Theresa, more fondly known as "Aunt Tessie", was one of 13 siblings. She was preceded in death by Lucy DiRuzza, Peter Campone, Magno Campone, Frances Fierro, Carmela Porcelli, Josephine Longo, Rose Simon Monaco, Dominick (aka Rex) Campone, Thomas Campone and Marion Miller and leaves behind sisters Lena Musco, Mimi Palermo and Frances Campone, wife of Rex, though Tessie always said she was more a sister than an in law. Aunt Tessie lived most of her life on 215th street in the Bronx with her late brother Thomas, his (late) wife Anne, and their children, Donna, Denise, Thomas and the late AnnMarie. Even though she never married or had children of her own, Aunt Tessie quickly took over the role of "mom" after Thomas' wife, Anne passed away suddenly. Thomas remarried and Aunt Tessie stayed to take care of the children. She worked part time as a wrapper at Alexanders department store on Fordham Road along with her sisters Josephine and Frances; she worked there right up until they closed in 1992. Aunt Tessie loved taking the 41 bus and walking up the hill to get to work. Niece Denise has always said "Aunt Tessie puts me to shame with the energy she has!" she wanted to walk everywhere!
After her forced retirement, she loved to go to Bingo with her dear friend, Carol Porcaro. She also loved going to Mohegan Sun Casino with her sisters, Carmela, Lena and Rosie. It was always a riot seeing them get off at the bus stop in Yonkers while telling stories of who won and who donated to the casino. Aunt Tessie was religious and attended mass at Immaculate Conception Church every Sunday until she moved with Denise to Colden Ave. She then attended St. Frances of Xavier Church until her health and the pandemic kept her home. Aunt Tessie continued her daily prayers with her rosary at home. In addition to attending church, Aunt Tessie loved spending time with her family whenever possible. She and Denise were even neighbors with her brother Thomas and his wife, Anita Campone. She also loved to walk the avenue to go shopping at the stores. She hated to stay home, always wanted to go somewhere, anywhere.
As with all the Campone sisters, Aunt Tessie was a great cook. Her gravy was truly the best. She loved to cook her lasagna and her baked ziti and everyone loved eating it. She would cook gravy almost every Sunday. She would always make enough to bring to AnnMarie and her family.
Aunt Tessie was truly the most beautiful and giving person. She remembered everyone's birthday, anniversary, saint name day and would always send Hallmark cards to her family and friends.
Aunt Tessie has many, many nieces and nephews (great and great-great nieces and nephews too!) that she leaves behind whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many friends and aquaintences who were lucky enough to have known her.
She will be truly missed every day.
The family will be present on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4-8pm at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc.  - 732 Yonkers Avenue - Yonkers, NY 10704 (914) 375-1400. Denise Mary Siracusa - November 21, 1959 - January 17, 2024

Departed: 01/17/2024 (Yonkers)
Obituary Preview: On January 17, 2024, Denise Mary Siracusa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a nearly three-year battle with cancer.
Denise was born on November 21, 1959 to Betty and the late Fred Barbagallo in the Bronx, where she resided all of her life. She leaves behind her husband and best friend of 37 years, Michael. Denise is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline LoPresti and Victoria Russo, along with her two “bonus children”, their husbands’, Peter and Giovanni. She is also survived by her mother Betty and brother Robert. Most importantly, she leaves behind her “grand-pup”, Milo, whom she often referred to as her therapy dog during her ongoing cancer battle.
Denise grew up in the Morris Park section of the Bronx, and always loved its close-knit community. She was destined for a bright future, having completed high school in only three years and was accepted into Fordham University at the age of sixteen. Always having an eye for design, she was recruited to work for many fashion companies, including Lord & Taylor, Frederick Atkins, and Miriam Haskell Jewelers.
She met the love of her life on August 17, 1985, on a blind date and the two wed on November 30, 1986. Their union resulted in the creation of a loving family with their two beautiful daughters. Denise was fortunate enough to buy the house next-door to her childhood home, and adored being able to spend time with her parents every day.
With her family being the most important gift in her life, she made the decision to leave the fashion industry and joined the NYC Department of Education to maximize the time spend raising her daughters. There, she worked selflessly for 20 years alongside children with autism and treated each of them as her own.
Denise was a social butterfly and devoted friend. She cherished her friendships, both old and new, with some as long as 58 years. No matter the length of time, if Denise was your friend, you had a friend for life.
Undoubtedly, one of her best-known characteristics was her fighting spirit, which became even more apparent during her cancer battle. Denise was a devout Catholic and never let her faith waiver, even up until the very end.
She is missed dearly, however there is solace knowing that Heaven gained a beautiful angel. We know she will forever be looking down on us from an endless beach- mojito in hand, listening to her favorite Motown songs.
Denise’s family is beyond grateful for the ongoing love and support that has been shown to them throughout these past three years. To help bring awareness to the hardships that cancer causes, the American Cancer Society has created a donation page in honor of Denise.
