Obituary Preview: Walter Noah Daugherty Jr., 85, of Nolanville passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his residence.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
Walter was born on November 27, 1936, to Walter and Ellen Daugherty in San Bernardino, CA. He joined the Army and after worked most of his life in manufacturing. Walter enjoyed sitting in his chair watching sports, especially the Texas Rangers, listening to blue grass gospel music, and playing the guitar. He was the solid dependable patriarch of his family and loved them fiercely. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Daugherty on October 21, 2019, his brother John Daugherty, and sister, Pat Cozine.
He is survived by his sons, Frank Daugherty of AZ, Bryan Daugherty of Liberty Hill, TX, Daniel Perdue of Nolanville, and Edwin Perdue of Germany; his daughter, Monica McKinney of NC; his sister, Betty Shearing of Oregon, fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.  A visitation will be one hour prior to services. His burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. following services at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Santana was born on September 20, 1954 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to Norberto and Ramona Perez Santana. He served in the U.S. Army from 1976 until his retirement in 1996. After his military career he worked for Walmart Distribution for over fifteen years. He married Sylvia Garcia on May 19, 1979 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.Santana loved to paint, draw landscapes, and even portraits of his family. He was very passionate about music, and was an expert salsa dancer. Santana enjoyed golf, boxing, baseball and football, cooking, and grilling at barbecues for family and friends.
Santana was preceded in death by his father, Norberto Santana.
He is survived by his mother, Ramona Perez Santana of San Juan, Puerto Rico; his wife Sylvia Santana of Temple; three daughters, Michelle Pereira and husband Richard of Nolanville; Stacey Elkins and husband Chris of Temple and Melissa Green and husband Cornel of Parkland, Fl.; one brother, Noel Santana and wife, Rosaura of San Juan, Puerto Rico; one sister, Damaris Rodriguez and husband Jose of San Juan, Puerto, Rico; and eight grandchildren.

Ray was born on October 16, 1955, In Pasadena, Texas to Elmer Ray and Chloe (Pyburn) Doughty. Ray served in the United States Navy. Ray Dell drove trucks for 30+ years and he got to see many places in the United States. He loved driving at night and looking at the stars on the road. His last 10 years of working he delivered for Dominos he made many friends and loved to talk up a storm with people. He loved listening to the jukebox and playing pool, telling stories of the past and playing jokes on his grand babies. Kenndley and Ray Dell were very close; they were best friends and loved messing with each other. I am honored to call Ray Dell my dad. He was a Great man and loving father. “I’ll see you around puke”
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 30 years, Jeannie Moore Doughty and two brothers, Sterlin and Elmer Ray Doughty.
Survivors include a son Kenndley Doughty and wife Sarah Hill of Temple; a brother, Chuck Boyd of Pasadena, Tx and two grandchildren, Rayland Dean and Kara Rayne Doughty of Temple.

Irma was a homemaker, housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.  Her favorite pet was Chiquita.
She is survived by husband Gabriel Melo of Belton, three sons; Juan M. Ortiz Jr. of Jarrell, Guadalupe Ortiz of Belton, Issac Ortiz of Jarrell, five daughters; Maria C. Ortiz-Lee of Belton, Amy Ortiz of Belton, Laura Valle of Jarrell, Christy Lopez of Austin, and Lisa M. Cochran of Jarrell, two sisters; Elida Castro of Belton, and Helen Ferguson of Troy, along with 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Irma is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Castaneda and Guadalupe Garza. Sandra was born on December 26, 1950, to Jack and Jewel Blevins in Lubbock. She met her husband, David Lowe when she was just a child.  They were childhood sweethearts. Sandra was a fulltime mom most of her life, but would work from home catering, baking cakes, and crocheting for others. Sandra loved being a mother and was very involved with her children’s activities and school. She also was a mother to most any child that came into her life. She was always into arts and crafts and collected pigs of all shapes and sizes.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Lowe, her stepson, David Lowe Jr., and her sister Cissy Crawford.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacque Mulford of Copperas Cove, Frances Teslar of Corpus Christi, her daughter in law, Heidi Lowe, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

He worked in retail most of his life. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Killeen. Byron loved riding motorcycles until his illness no longer allowed him to. He loved spending time with his family and friends and his beloved pet, Lola. Robert served in the United States Army for many years until he honorably retired.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roberto Rosa.
Robert is survived by his mother, Evelyn Lopez Rosa of Conneticut, his wife, Zilika Rosa of Harker Heights, his stepsons, Ivan Prez of Austin, Dariel Malave of San Antonio, and his brothers, Anthony Rosa of Connecticut, Daniel Rosa of New Jersey, Vidal Acosta of New Jersey, and his beloved dog, Milo.

Survivors are one son, Ruben Tijerina of Reynosa, Mexico; seven daughters, Ma Guadalupe Tijerina, Yolanda Tijerina, DianaTijerina, Maria Tijerina, Faboila Tijerina, Laura Tijerina and Claudia Tijerina; two brothers, Cervando Olvera and Rolando Olvera all of Mexico; three sisters, Antonia Ibarra, Celia Olvera and Carmen Olvera all of Mexico,  36 grandchildren and 48

In Heaven she was greeted by her Aunt Sarah Beth Formica.  She passed away 13 years ago leaving behind 2 beautiful little girls.  One Mika has loved and helped take care of, now Sarah has her baby girl.  Joining Mikayla in heaven; her grandparents Johnny Joe Ware Sr., Manuel Montalbo and Sarah Montalbo, her cousin BJ Berteau and her great great grandma Velma Berteau.

Virginia was born on June 22, 1926, to Glen and Ruby Lowder in Wellington, KS. She met the love of her life, William Prothro at a local dance and they were soon married on June 1, 1945. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Virginia was a faithful woman of God and worked for many years at the Church of Christ in Killeen as the church secretary. Virginia enjoyed shopping, reading, puzzles, board games, cards, and just about anything to bring family and friends together. Virginia was the definition of a true lady and always dressed her best even with no place to go. She was a member of Avenue T Church of Christ for many years.
Waiting for her in Heaven were her parents, Glen and Ruby Lowder, her beloved husband, William Prothro, her four siblings, Virgil Lowder, Marilyn Lindberg, Arnett Lowder, and Pansey Hansen, her children, Bradley Prothro, Terry Prothro, and Steve Prothro, her grandchild, Patricia Holetzky, and Michael Smith.

Kassi was born on April 18, 1985, to Richard Lee Brewer and Trisha Sue Green in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was their oldest child and only daughter. That is what probably started her outgoing motherly spirit. When she became a mother herself her spirit was complete.  Her son Kaleb was her life, heart, and soul.  Kassi liked to go against the norms. Her favorite colors were yellow and orange, like her many rubber ducks that she collected. She had the most caring and helpful heart. She would give her last dollar to help anyone. Kassi enjoyed being involved in the VFW Post 8577 Angel Tree to help children at Christmas time. She also had no filter and was who you could count on to just shoot you straight. She was quite the social butterfly and loved being with her family and friends. She will be missed beyond measure.
She is survived by her father, Richard and his wife, Denise of Jonesboro; her mother, Trisha Green of San Angelo; her son, Kaleb Brewer of Jonesboro ; her brothers, Jason Brewer of Jonesboro, and Adam Brewer, and wife Star, of Copperas Cove; her sister, Tavara Curb of San Angelo, and numerous family members, and friends.

She met and married Fred Edward Thornton on August 24, 2012 in Bell County. Prescious was known for her love of Bingo. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors are her husband, Fred Thornton of Harker Heights; one son, Kevin Green of Bellmead; one daughter, Wendy DelLaRosa of Belton; one sister, Francis Darlene Crone of Ft. Worth; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Terri was born on April 12, 1961 in Union City, PA. to Bill and Barbara Beebe. She married James Sisk on April 13, 1979 in Killeen, TX. She worked as an Accountant, CPA. She attended CTC, University of Central Texas, Tarleton. She had a bachelors degree in Business administration. Terri worked as a CPA for 19 years. Survivors are her husband James Sisk of Temple ;one daughter, Cassandra Dubay of New Braunfels, TX.; one sister, Diania Wendt of Harker Heights; three grandchildren, Diezel Dubay, Trent and Justin Carpenter

Lois Marie Lowery - March 20, 1938 - March 14, 2022

Obituary Preview: Lois Higginbotham Lowery, 83 years of age, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at her home in Temple, Texas after a brief illness.                         Lois was born in Valley Mills, Texas on March 20, 1938 to the late R.V. Higginbotham and Alice Marshall.  She was the youngest of four children, all of whom preceded her in death.  Lois was educated in the Valley Mills schools, and graduated in 1956.                         Lois married Bill in Rising Fawn, Georgia in 1965.  They were blessed with one son, Bradford Wayne.                           Lois began her work career as an Administrative Assistant at Connally Air Force base in Waco, Texas.  She then moved to Alabama and worked at Red Stone Arsenal as a Main Frame Computer processing scheduler in Huntsville.  She retired as a property manager at various locations in the Dallas and Temple area.                           Lois leaves behind her loving husband, Bill, her cherished son Bradford and his wife Brenda.  Two granddaughters, seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.                         A brief service of remembrance will be held on Monday, March 28,2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.   Crotty Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Ann Birkes - November 27, 1947 - March 13, 2022

Obituary Preview: Barbara Ann Birkes passed into the presence of her Savior and Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was 74. Barbara was born November 27, 1947, to Willie Walter and Mamie Irene Marwitz, in Hamilton, Texas. She grew up among many family members and friends in the beautiful hill country in and around Priddy. She was valedictorian of Priddy’s senior class of ‘66. After graduation, she moved to Temple for business school where she met and married Donald Birkes. The couple had two children, Don Jr. and Anne-Marie, that they raised in their beautiful home in Moffat. In 2003, God graciously reunited Barbara with her birth-daughter, Jan. All three of Barbara’s children brought her tremendous joy!
Barbara worked for years as an office manager for Bell County, retiring in 2007, when she devoted herself full-time to keeping up with her growing brood of grandchildren, which eventually numbered thirteen.
Always a woman of strong faith, Barbara was a constant encourager and prayer warrior on behalf of many, and especially her family. It was a ministry that only increased when various health challenges kept her close to home the last few years of life. All who knew Barbara can testify to her beautiful, gentle spirit, her love for Christ and His Word, and her joyful, steady faith through various life challenges.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her brother, Donald Marwitz, and her brother-n-law Randy Pope. She is survived by her son, Don Jr. of Moody, Texas, along with his wife, Margie, and their children, Kaitlynn, Carter, Banner, Trenton, and Reece; her daughter, Anne-Marie Copeland of Bixby, Oklahoma, along with her husband, Nathan, and their children, Faith, Judson, Mary, Ezra, Levi, and Owen; her birth-daughter, Janice Wildman of Dallas, Texas, along with her husband, Steve, and their children, Rebecca and Laura; her sweet sister and caregiver, Pamela Marwitz Pope of Priddy, Texas; her sister-in-law, Linda Marwitz of Manchaca, Texas; and many beloved extended family members not limited to nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, as well as countless friends and neighbors.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, at First Baptist Church, Moffat, Texas. Pastor Nathan Copeland will be officiating. Crotty Funeral Home and Cremation Services are entrusted to services. Post tributes at crottyfh.com.

He always wanted to be a pastor. Christopher also attended CTC in Waco. He was also a Free Mason. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors are his parents, David and Norma Georg Jackson: Fiancé, Jennifer Roshan of Belton.  two daughters, Alexis Wynn of California and Danica George of Temple; two sisters, Pam Knox of Oklahoma and Melinda Jackson of Temple, TX; two grandchildren.
