She was the wife of the late Adrien P. Doucet Sr. and the daughter of the late Lena (Emond) Demers. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl L. Doucet of Fall River, MA and was the mother of the late Adrien P. Doucet Jr. She also leaves a grandson Gregory C. Doucet of Somerset (late wife Dawn (Norway) Doucet). She was the grandmother of the late Phillippe M. Doucet. Lorraine was able to experience the joy of having a great-granddaughter, Alyssa K. Wright of Unadilla, NY. She had 2 siblings; Lucille (Demers) Antaya of Somerset and the late Norman Demers.
When questioned about what she believed were her greatest accomplishments – she would point to her children. While she was strict and held both children to the same standards; they knew they were loved deeply.
Those that knew her would attest to her love of artistry, creativity and of life itself. She believed that where there was a problem, there was a solution. While often unfiltered, she shared her life experiences and thoughts freely with those she valued and loved.
There were many things in life that she cherished but among the top of the list are angels, butterflies, snowmen and blueberries. Lorraine was convinced that the anti-oxidants contributed to a longer life and healthy heart. She also believed Angels would help ease burdens and provide guidance. Butterflies celebrated their freedom to be unique and transformative. And snowmen? Because whether you are young or old a dancing snowman makes you feel alive.
She will be remembered by many as having a clever, dead-pan sense of humor. So dry in fact, it would often catch her off guard. And with age, came a better appreciation of how laughter makes all things better.
A visitation will be held Monday April 11,2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday April 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial following at the Notre Dame Cemetery.
